✔️The only guaranteed #PFAS remediation solution on the marketplace. Inspired by our early work in 2001, ALTRA set out to refine and enhance its foam fractionation technology and to develop its own proprietary ALTRA Media. From 2014 to 2017, ALTRA conducted joint research with McGill University and the Université de Montréal to identify viable treatment approaches, and two years later, constructed its first pilot units. To support its #PFAS remediation, ALTRA established a fully equipped analytical and treatability studies laboratory in #Montreal. The ALTRA PFAS Center of Excellence features bench testing units and the diagnostic capabilities for analyzing PFAS in groundwater, surface water, and complex wastewaters using validated EPA methods. Since its establishment, the Center has analyzed more than 14,000 samples. Significant progress was made in 2021 and 2022, when ALTRA successfully executed Canada’s largest PFAS remediation project at a firefighting training area on the Canadian Forces base in Borden—a site containing 2.7 million gallons of AFFF and hydrocarbon-contaminated groundwater. Using portions of the groundwater, ALTRA conducted a full-scale field demonstration pilot test which achieved 99.8% removal efficiency for the summation of 28 PFAS. In the process, ALTRA was able to further optimize its foam fractionation technology. Today, ALTRA’s PFAS treatment solution is a customized, multi-step approach that combines its award-winning foam fractionation technology with polishing filtration - the only guaranteed PFAS solution on the market.
