In partnership with TechForce Foundation, we are excited to announce the first recipient of our Hertz Technician Scholarship – City of New York student, Wilson C. from Thomas Edison Career and Technical High School. Wilson’s dream career is to be an automotive technician and he will be continuing his education at UTI-Bloomfield. #HertzLetsGo#TechForceFoundation
Check out TechForce Foundation's ongoing "Grab the Wheel" campaign. With a clear objective to inspire the next generation of technicians who will keep America rolling, this campaign zeroes in on students aged 13-24 who are still considering what they want to be when they grow up. It is about applying each individual's strengths and passions and helping them find meaningful work they enjoy and love.
The ambition is clear: welcome one million new entry-level technicians over the next five years to meet a pressing workforce demand. Whether students are excited by auto, collision, aviation, diesel, EV, motorsports, or welding, techs are in high demand across all sectors.
“If you don’t want to sit at a desk the rest of your life, sign up for four more years of academia, or just love engines and making things work, you can go further, faster with a tech career.” - Jennifer Maher
❗ 📣 Looking for an Internship or Graduate role in Formula 1 or Automotive Software?
📚 In my own and peers' experiences, most universities do not teach (or even mention) the fundamental concepts that are used on a daily basis in automotive-related software. Online resources on the topic are scarce and not tailored for beginners. 😞 As a result, many students lack a foundational understanding of industry-specific principles. I was in this position too before working at Mercedes AMG HPP!
🗝 But, there is no reason why this should be the case... Knowing what 'Automotive Software' means can contribute massively in your efforts towards an entry-level software role in the field.
✔ I've created a free short guide and FAQ on the essential automotive and motorsport software concepts you must know as a university student or graduate looking to break into the field.
💡 Get the guide at https://dimpan.com, and kickstart your journey into the world of automotive/motorsport software!

Did you hear about the Red Car Theory yet?
Hey everyone! 👋
Hope this post finds you all well on your professional journeys. Today, I want to share a powerful concept, which I recently came across, that has the potential to drive your career to new heights – the Red Car Theory. 🚗💨
Red Car Theory: Standing Out in the Crowd
Imagine you're walking down a busy street filled with cars of various colours. Amidst the sea of ordinary cars, a red car immediately grabs your attention.
Why?
Because it stands out! Similarly, in your career, being the "red car" can make all the difference.
In the professional world, the Red Car Theory is about differentiating yourself from the competition. It's about developing unique skills, having a distinctive personal brand, and making an impact that sets you apart in your field.
🌐 Applying the Red Car Theory to our Career:
1. Specialize: Identify a niche or skill set that aligns with your passion and the needs of your industry. Learn that new tool, read about the upcoming tech, become the go-to expert in that area.
2. Continuous Learning: Stay ahead by constantly updating your skills. Attend workshops, take online courses, and seek relevant certifications.
3. Networking: Build meaningful connections within and beyond your industry. Networking opens doors to opportunities you might not have discovered otherwise.
4. Showcase Achievements: Don't be shy about highlighting your accomplishments. Delivered a challenging project at work? Share your successes story and demonstrate the value you bring.
5. Embrace Challenges: Volunteer for challenging projects that push your boundaries. Overcoming obstacles demonstrates your resilience and ability to adapt.
🚀 The Result?
Increased visibility, career growth, and a path paved with exciting opportunities.

ASE Instructor Training Conference Features Nitro-X Event Showcasing How to Attract Students to Automotive Programs
As part of its upcoming instructor training conference in July, the ASE Education Foundation will host a special Nitro-X demonstration event for conference attendees.
Nitro-X is a youth summer camp that was pioneered by the Minnesota State Transportation Center of Excellence to inspire students and engage the industry in the process of giving middle school and early high school students hands-on experiences in transportation career pathways. Using radio- controlled cars that are constructed over the course of the week and raced on the last day, students learn how vehicles work, build their confidence with technical skills, work in teams to develop life and employability skills and gain exposure to the transportation industry by going on tours of local businesses.
