Josh Brewer’s Post

I’m super excited to announce that I’ve joined Enjoy The Work as a General Partner. It's been a couple of years since we sold Abstract. In that time I have done a lot of personal reflection, overcome some health issues, spent time in Venture, and been fortunate to work with founders and companies where our values are deeply aligned. I’ve been able to bring all of my experience and my compassion into these relationships and have been rewarded seeing the teams and businesses grow in beautiful ways. My path has been somewhat unconventional and yet reflective of the curiosity and willingness that I bring to everything I do. I’ve listened to my intuition and taken risks that have allowed me to do things I never thought I’d do when I was younger. And now I’ve found that serving founders by bringing the totality of my experience—as a designer, a founder, a CEO, an advisor, an investor, coupled with a devotion to increasing my capacity to love and hold space for others—is where I’m finding the greatest joy. When I met the team at Enjoy The Work, I found a kinship that I didn’t realize I had been missing and something truly unique in the way we operate. Most advisors are focused on the tactical/functional side of things. And most coaches are focused on the interpersonal. At Enjoy The Work, we are obsessed with helping great founders become exceptional CEOs. And that means working on the whole person—the general, functional, and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in this environment. I’m deeply grateful to all of my colleagues over the years, to my cofounders, to my investors, and all of you who have supported me—thank you.
