Interesting read in WSJ yesterday. For those in retail, regardless of category, we know there’s been a heightened focus on improved assortment curation as well as tighter alignment of products, channels, and locations. The pandemic and related supply chain challenges have only amplified this focus, and pushed some further and faster than perhaps they thought needed or were prepared for. It has increased required collaboration across silos as well – including merchandising, planning, supply chain, stores, and finance – with all trying to balance assortment breadth and depth, price points, consumer choice, complexity, and inventory capital requirements. There are always new tools and shiny objects, and of course AI will be in play, but there’s also some basic fundamentals that often have gaps and blind spots. The Parker Avery Group has always had a focus in merchandising, planning, and overall inventory management – and this has been truly front and center of almost everything we’ve done especially since the pandemic. So, if you want to discuss assortment planning and inventory productivity challenges and opportunities, with a focus across process, organization/roles, and systems, please reach out to us – we’ll be at the National Retail Federation Expo in New York, January 14-16, Booth 1307! #retailindustry #NRF2024 #assortment #merchandising #planning #inventorymanagement

Colliers / Vice President / Retail Service Group - Orchestrating initiatives that grow market share and competitive advantage.
Furniture retailers are contending with the enduring perception of oversupply, despite increased consumer spending, which has failed to dispel this notion. The article discusses how retail space per capita in the United States has slightly reduced, even with a surge in population and retail spending. Retailers have adapted by managing inventory growth, optimizing existing spaces, and focusing on a consumer-centric approach. This includes improving the in-store experience, embracing digital transformation, enhancing supply chain resilience, and diversifying their offerings. To gain deeper insights into how furniture retailers are navigating these challenges in the evolving retail landscape, read this article I wrote for Furniture Today: https://lnkd.in/g9ZzncSd #CRE #FurnitureToday #Retail

Store Management || Retail Operations |Merchandising Specialist || Inventory Management || Warehouse Management // Store operations// Sales Management// Supply chain Manager // SAP ERP Specialist //Business Development.
Retail Management: Retail management specifically deals with working in a store of some kind and for this to qualify it does mean that the store has products and items to purchase. However, we should stress that it does not matter what the products are, because the main point is that they are there on the shelves and displays whereby members of the public can enter, browse at their own pace, and then make that purchase. What we are talking about here are stores ranging from supermarkets, to shoes shops, clothes, DIY, home décor, baby items, arts & crafts, the list is endless but they all have one thing in common and that thing is the way in which the products are there on display and ready to buy. #retail #retailmanagement #retailindustry #retailcareer #retailing #retailexperience #supermarket #storemanager #storemanagement #inventorymanagement #stockmanagement #supermarkets #consultancyservices
