Dear LinkedIn Network, I'm excited to share my end-of-year project titled "Currency Exchange Prediction: Approaches and Achievements." This project represents an incredible journey of exploring and implementing a comprehensive evaluation of diverse time-series prediction models for exchange rates, ranging from traditional methods like Markov chains to advanced techniques such as LSTM and CNN. Throughout this project, our primary goal was to predict central bank manual and interbank rates, alongside buy and sell predictions for banks and exchange offices, enhancing our understanding of financial market dynamics. Additionally, I developed a practical application for currency prediction and crafted a Power BI dashboard to visualize global exchange rates and historical buy-sell trends for financial institutions. 🚀 Excited to share my latest project! 🚀 I created a sentiment graph based on the Copom Minutes using #R. This project involved web scraping the BCB website with the help of the #jsonlite, #pdftools, and #magrittr packages. I then processed and analyzed the text from the minutes using #stringr, #tm, #tidytext, and #textdata packages. By employing the Loughran-McDonald dictionary from the #textdata package, I was able to develop a sentiment index for each meeting’s minutes. The results indicate a trend of increasing pessimism in the central bank's outlook since the 200th minute in July 2016. I want to extend my gratitude to Análise Macro for their outstanding contributions and for sharing their invaluable knowledge with us.
