Today, I want to let you in on a recent transformation in my life. A journey that took me halfway across the world, only to find my true north back home.   In 2021, I traded the comfort of Germany for the excitement of a digital nomad's life. I soft-started in Malta and progressed to Latin America. This wasn't a change in location; it was the manifestation of a dream I'd nurtured for years. Escaping daily life, new cultures, food, and people - what a life!   As my journey unfolded in Latin America, I started discovering a growing void inside. The feeling was hard to pin down at first. So what did I do? I got a coach and embarked with him on a deep introspection.   One day while doing some personal work it hit me.   I was yearning for something more profound. People walking in the same direction, a Community like I had before. My core values weren't in sync with the nature of my chosen lifestyle.   So, I paused. This dream of being a digital nomad, although glamorous on the surface, wasn't mine. I had adopted it from others' narratives, media portrayals, and romanticized ideals.   The lesson I learned? 🌟 Reflecting on my most cherished memories of 2023 and one image stands out above the rest: During a break from my digital nomad work in Mexico, I couldn’t resist the allure of a hot air balloon ride over the stunning landscape of the Sun and Moon Pyramids. As I look back now, it's amusing to realize that many of my favorite pictures are from moments when I was actually… scared. In the serene heights of the balloon, far above the earth, I found myself confronted with that familiar flutter of… dizzying anxiety. Sometimes, no matter what is happening, it’s difficult to enjoy the moment. Yet, it's precisely in these instances of vulnerability that the true essence of adventure reveals itself. 🌍 Amidst the grandeur of Mexico's landscape, I discovered that embracing fear is not just about conquering it, but about finding the beauty and growth within its grasp. These moments of uncertainty, when faced with courage, not only shape our journeys but also deepen our understanding of resilience and possibility. 🚀✨ So, as I continue to navigate the path of a digital nomad and HR consultant, I carry with me the lessons learned from those moments of apprehension. I grew up in a small village in Southeast Westphalia, which is in the west of Germany. 🌍 I left my town for an apprenticeship as a media designer. And it wasn't about knowing exactly what I wanted. It was about acknowledging that I needed a bigger fishbowl to grow in. I moved to Münster, studied at the University of Münster, and then moved to Berlin, and my need for further exploration of the world and myself continued. 🧘♀️ Then I became a digital nomad, living in Bali, Mexico, Hawaii.🌺 I chose to embrace the digital nomad lifestyle. It wasn't just about wanderlust but about following my heart's deepest desires. And yes, I did want that! I'm profoundly grateful for the privilege of such a journey. 🤔 There were moments when I questioned my choices, but in those times, I found solace in reflection and the guidance of mentors and friends. Life's path often becomes more apparent when we realize what we don't want to do. On this journey, uncertainty is natural, and it's okay not to have all the answers. As Viktor Frankl wisely stated: “happiness cannot be pursued; it must ensue.”💡 So it can ensue as a result of choices. On my journey I chose life. I chose introspection, self-love, and decisive action after reflection. No matter where I am or what I do, one thing remains certain: I will never cease to love and support myself, relentlessly seeking paths that align with my essence: to connect to myself and others and to support and be supported.
