In the absence of a significant increase in demand, overcapacity is imminent due to the impending wave of new containership arrivals. The responsibility for adjusting deployed capacity to the anticipated fall in global demand for containerized goods lies with the shipping lines. Liners have become experts at adjusting capacity. This was the situation in the early stages of the pandemic when extensive short-notice blanking of sailings was the norm. This also continued to be the case in the latter half of 2022, primarily through slow steaming and brief deviations to lengthier routes. As long as shipping companies work together to address the oversupply and avoid engaging in a destructive price war to fill their ships, one thinks they can handle the influx of new deliveries. #shipping #shipsandshipping #oceanfreight #containershipping

Adding vessels to the flow of trade could help with a potential container crunch that has many logistics managers worried. When vessels are late, the containers on those vessels will be late to be processed and reused again for exports. This will delay exports from Europe to the United States as well as from Asia to the United States and the world. Logistics CEOs have been warning CNBC that the vessel re-routings would result in container crunches for weeks. #tpfsvn #seafreight #Airfreight #crossborder #Inland #Project #lashing #railfreight #Oog #cranes #forklifts #loading #unloading.

The crisis in the red sea continues to impact global supply chains. Read the latest update from DHL Global Forwarding #dhlglobalforwarding #nzgsta
There is no let-up in sight to a Red Sea crisis that has far-reaching impacts across global supply chains. The diversions of vessels have reverberated across the shipping trades, creating network and container positioning difficulties for lines, and driving up costs for their customers. Cape diversions have also swallowed the excess vessel capacity that carriers feared would bedevil bottom lines during 2024. For more background and insights on this, check out the below article. Please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our Freight Forwarding Experts at #dhlglobalforwarding to discuss what this means for your supply chain.

Shipping diversions due to the ongoing Red Sea crisis are proving beneficial for some carriers in the short term, but what will happen upon a resolution? According to Orient Overseas (International) Limited: “What is obvious is that the container shipping market is highly susceptible to any form of disruption, and the complete effect will not be seen until the original balance is restored or a new equilibrium is found.” Do you agree? https://lnkd.in/gYxyaw6Z #RedSeaCrisis #oceanfreight #freightforwarding
