It’s tough out there for an owl 😅 Seriously though: kudos to our incredible Duolingo artists, whose work has real business impact. This app icon change was talked about all over the internets and drove tons of learners to open their app and do a lesson. I was talking about these amazing results with Gregory Hartman who said, “It’s crazy how much influence our artists have on our brand! A single, well-placed illustration can not only drive more traffic to our app but can also reveal something special about our brand and our beloved little owl. The artists are a huge part of what drives love for Duolingo and I’m not sure how much the general public knows that.” This is one of my favorite parts about working at Duolingo. We get to be silly and push brand boundaries in the name of something really good: helping people learn something new.
