Most of us do not understand much jargon used in the Ayurvedic Wellness industry. In these upcoming posts, we will try to decode those terms. First, Let us understand Panchakarma, the most commonly used term in offering wellness retreats in India, its benefits, and its five alternative cleansing therapies. Panchakarma is an Ayurvedic detox treatment that cleanses the body of toxins and balances the doshas (the three vital energies). It is a 3-part process that includes: 1. Poorvkarma (preliminary cleansing): This phase involves taking medicated oils and having massages to loosen toxins and move them to the digestive tract. 2. Pradhan karma (central cleansing): This phase includes five different cleansing therapies: i. Vamana (induced vomiting) ii. Vasti (enema) iii. Nasya (nasal drops) iv. Virechana (purging) v. Raktamokshana (bloodletting) 3. Paschat karma (post-cleansing): This phase involves replenishing the body with nutrients and helping it to adjust to its new state. Reflecting on an Enlightening Evening! We had an incredible Q&A session with Dr. Vibhuti Rao at our Hormonal Healing Soiree in collaboration with FemTech India. Let's recap some of the gems of wisdom we uncovered about holistic well-being through the lens of Ayurveda. 🧘♀️ Hormones & Body Types: We delved deep into understanding our hormones and how they shape our unique body types. Embracing Ayurveda's personalised approach to wellness, we're on the path to balance and harmony. 🧠 Gut-Mind Connection: The profound link between our gut health and mental well-being left us in awe. Nurturing our gut with nourishing foods and mindfulness practices is the key to a happy, peaceful mind. 🚺 PCOS : It was eye-opening to learn that PCOS can often be misdiagnosed, a misdiagnosis can occur when only one symptom is addressed without considering the overall health picture.
