A great article! Employers have long been at the forefront of promoting sustainable commuting practices! It's been great to see the surge in organizations investing in their own custom-branded commute management platforms, especially considering that the cost can be less than just one or two parking spaces (with surface, above-grade, and underground parking ranging from $24,000 to $63,000 per space as per this article). Many organizations are launching their own dedicated platforms to empower their workforce with sustainable commute options, while also ensuring they have data ownership and control of data security. Alternatively, many are engaging with City, Regional, or State/Provincial programs to support their employees in making eco-friendly choices. To my HR, Real Estate/Facility and Parking connections: If you haven't already embraced sustainable commuting initiatives with your own platform, or by actively participating in a regional commute trip reduction platform, what's holding you back? https://lnkd.in/gvpMRRDM #unifiedmobility #TDM #commute #Transit #carpool #sustainability #parking #MaaS #cycling #remotework #hybridWork RideShark

The ugliness of 9-5 working in an office is perfectly captured in the image below... I used to be in a queue just like it until I said enough to the below -hours lost commuting -packed into a horrible tube with no air -constrained by working hours -tied to one location -high living costs in big cities -very low life fulfilment and job satisfaction it's looking like we are returning to pre-pandemic madness with this image isnt it? So what can you do about it? Put your skills on the open market to the highest bidder as a freelancer consultant and work from wherever you like. Starting a freelancing consultant business isn't about registering as self-employed. You can do it, but you won't get all the benefits of being a business owner. Check out the first 2 amagi modules for FREE of the amagi freelance business course, which delves into the world of money and creating a business and why freelancing your existing skillset is the fastest and safest route to build the life you want, however you want it. https://lnkd.in/dtKRsXvK

Let's start a new spin on this conversation. It's not that people are against coming into the office so much as it is that *commuting* is killing us. Literally. Both quickly through road fatalities and miserably slowly through stress of traffic, noise pollution, and air pollution. The Matrix we are plugged into is urban sprawl. We need to come together and think different. We can't change infrastructure overnight but we need to start imagining. How can we fill our needs with less cars? https://lnkd.in/gzA-XwE2

The green side of remote work! 👩💻💚 But digital nomad and remote work friends let’s not forget: frequently flying to new destinations dramatically increase our carbon footprint. As much as I love the #workfromanywhere and #workandtravel revolution, it comes with a cost for the environment. The big elephant in the room that’s never discussed enough in nomad/remote work circles… Some things we can do to reduce the impact of our work & travel lifestyle: 🌿Stay longer in a destination 🌿Where possible, prefer trains to plane 🌿If you need to fly, choose direct flights 🌿In the destination, choose walking, cycling or public transports over taxi rides or private cars 👉Do you think about your carbon footprint when planning your remote work adventures? 👉Any further tip you’d like to share? Write it in the comments below!👇 #carbonfootprint #remotework #impact #emissions #suatainabletravel

This is my goal, not only is it good for the environment, but also mental health. Having extra time from driving everyday you are able to get more sleep, enjoy your morning tea or coffee, eat a health breakfast, increased saving on gas, and some auto insurances will drop the cost of your premium due to driving less. Don't forget about avoiding the traffic, and the stress of driving to and from work everyday...etc. It's a win in my book!

“Employee COMMUTING - Scope 3 Category 7” “SUCCEED SUSTAINABLY” “This blog will help you to better understand how to report on the emissions from your staff commuting in vehicles not owned or operated by your organisation. This includes employees travelling to work in their own or rented car, by public transport, airplane, ferry or active transport like, e-scooting or riding an e-bike. It could also include emissions from teleworking.” “These emissions would fit into the ISO category 3: Indirect GHG emissions from transport.” “What is included?” “The Greenhouse Gas Protocol defines this category as the transport of employees between their homes and their worksites during the reporting year (in vehicles not owned or operated by the reporting company).” “Here’s a reminder of where different employee travel activities sit in your value chain.” “Emissions of employees commuting Scope 3, category 7 (employee commuting)” “Where should I start?” “There are many ways to cut down on commuting emissions.
