The recent surge in the popularity of women's football is reflected in the increasing size of the prize money awarded to winners. Prize money was introduced in China for the first time in 2007 with a total of USD 5.8 million for the competing teams. Since then, FIFA has instituted new funding initiatives (the Club Benefits Programme and the Preparation Money) to assist both national teams and clubs. A total of USD 110 million will be awarded to the teams at the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ , with $10.5 million going to the victorious team and $6.2 million guaranteed to the players. This represents a substantial, 200% increase in distribution compared to the 2019 edition, largely because of the larger number of competing teams. It's also the first time that everyone who enters the event would get at least $30,000 (USD). #sportsbiz #sportsbusiness #womensworldcup #sportsindustry #linkedinsports #fifa #prizemoney

Hi friends! The first round of EURO has concluded, and it was full of surprises! I wanted to share some thoughts on the most interesting matches and our betting experience. Our Most Profitable Matches: - Belgium vs. Slovakia - Austria vs. France - Serbia vs. England One of the key criteria for a good product in betting is result stability. Our goal is to minimize losses with negative sports outcomes and maximize profits when the results are in our favor. For example, the first round of EURO ended with a 6.9% margin for us, which I consider a great result given the outcomes of the matches. In particular, the Belgium vs. Slovakia match was a top performer for us with a 61.2% margin! A Few Interesting Observations: - Totals are the most profitable markets for us in this EURO. - Totals on the second team are the most profitable. - However, match-winner markets are currently dragging us down. And a little spoiler: the first day of the second round was quite good for us too! We will continue to monitor the events and work on ensuring our products bring maximum value and enjoyment to our users. Thank you for staying with us! #EURO2024 #Sportsbook #Betting #SOFTSWISS #Akamenetskyi

Most financially sustainable club in Europe! ⚽💰💪 In a football world where big-money clubs like FC Barcelona are in billions of euros of debt, a modest club is quietly setting the financial sustainability standards. According to a report published by Off The Pitch in 2022, Atalanta B.C. emerged as the most financially robust club in Europe. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the club registered a profit for the sixth year in a row and accumulated over €175 million in net profits. Interestingly, the Italian club’s key to success lies in its exceptional scouting system. From 2016 to 2021, Atalanta made almost €250 million in profits from player sales while continuously improving its on-field performances. The club qualified for UEFA competitions for five consecutive seasons, which saw its revenue triple during this period. Nevertheless, the club remained sensible with its expenses. Atalanta’s 47.4% wage-to-turnover ratio in 2021 was by far the lowest in Serie A. 🗞️Sources: Off The Pitch and The Hindu 📺Watch the video - https://lnkd.in/dB59AKAP #sportsjournalism #football #soccer #sportsindustry #sportsbusiness #sponsorship #sportsmarketing #footballnews #sportsnews #footballbusiness #sportsmanagement #1minfootball

"A great challenge of life: Knowing enough to think you're doing it right, but not enough to know you're doing it wrong."
This is NOT a mega-event. Inter Miami is not a super team, this is a team with two aging superstars in Messi and Suarez. Not is the one from KSA with CR7 a super team. Remember this is not a 1 vs 1 event. This is far from Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich friendly. Can they get a refund? Nope. "It seems the recovery rate from the soccer team co-owned by David Beckham is as low as what creditors can expect from Evergrande. Inter Miami has an escape clause. It had agreed Messi had to play for at least 45 minutes unless he was injured, according to local media reports. And no, fans won’t get a refund if the player skipped the game, the organizers had said in December." This is NOT an F1 event as part of the F1 calendar. HK Sevens is a regular sporting event - it would be hard to call it a mega sporting event. Even staging a tennis or badminton tournament is risky, sometimes the few favourites do not advance to the finals - and then all interest is lost, when NN (no name) plays UU (unpronounceable, unpronounceable). So why sign such a stupid deal that Inter Miami wins when it is heads, and HK loses when it is tails? "Hong Kong’s eagerness to reclaim its shine is palpable, but that also makes it easy to be taken advantage of. Going forward, the government needs to have a good rethink of those mega live events. They are expensive to host, but may not bring out a retail-sales revival." HK's desperation was palpable. It weakened its hand. And let itself sign a shitty deal. And now it wants to complain?
