We had a blast at the 2024 JM Eagle LA Championship Pro/Am at Wilshire Country Club. It was a privilege to sponsor the 11th hole and be right in the heart of the action.
The event kicked off the night before with some fun at the LA Golf Club simulator truck, where we all tried (with varying success!) to perfect our drives. During the day, it was spectacular watching the pros play against the iconic backdrop of the Hollywood sign. Moments like these really highlight why we love what we do.
Big shoutout to the #LGPA for a fantastic tournament, it’s always impressive to see the pros in action, and this year was no exception. We also had the chance to witness some cutting-edge tech thanks to Geoffrey Goldstein and Trackman. Also, a very special thanks to Outlyr for presenting us with this opportunity.
And yes, you’ll want to stick around for the end of the video as our CEO, Michael F., decided to show off his sign-spinning skills. Spoiler: he’s sticking to his day job.
Great times with great people - here’s to more events where we can mix business with a healthy dose of fun!
Thank you Outlier Jets, Michael F., John Wright, Patrick Hill, Dave Tucker, Outlyr and all of the staff members/volunteers that helped make this event happen. So glad to hear our Around The Box EventsTrackman Experience was such a hit with all of the ProAm players. I missed Mike showcasing his sign-spinning skills. Love that! See you all on the tee box again soon. ⛳️

Working with reliable vendors who understand your daily operations is crucial for the success of any business. I want to thank Pack On The Go for their exceptional services that my company doesn't handle, but we do go hand in hand. I highly recommend this company for their excellent quality services.
P.s. At the 16sec mark you can see my swing! 😀

Growing up on the east coast of Scotland, GAA wasn’t that well known.
Since relocating to the Emerald Isle 🍀 I still only seem to have developed what could generously be described as a basic understanding of the sport.
Despite this, I was particularly pleased to have been invited along to the Saffron Business Forum lunch on Friday and to hear Jim McGuinness speak about his journey to the highest levels of amateur sport, his experience in moving into professional sport and working in Scotland, Japan and the US.
What is quite apparent is that sports are sports - apart from some fine technical analysis on certain rule changes within the game, what was said could have been applied to any competitive team sport or indeed, any successful business.
I suspect I may be doing Jim a slight injustice here but some of the key takeaways (for me at least) were as follows;
Values - What you do is more important that what you say you do. Those ‘values’ you put on your website? Not important (Jim put it more 'succinctly' that that!) IF you don’t demonstrate and adhere to those values with your staff and customers/clients.
Culture and philosophy - Vital to creating a successful team (and business) but they can’t be dictated...they need buy-in from the whole team.
People – if a team member was worth the effort the Thursday before they broke their leg, they are worth the effort in getting them back fit. Everyone can go through ‘seasons’ whether that is partners, customers/clients or employees. Sometimes the reason for a drop in performance is clear (eg broken leg). Sometimes its not. Maybe it’s personal, maybe it’s professional. Either way, remember that person’s value and help get them back on their feet.
3 conversations – notwithstanding the above, if someone isn’t meeting expectations or buying in to the team in the way they should, they
get 3 conversations. I don’t think I would like to have that third conversation with Jim.
45 metre line rule change – genuinely I have no idea. Something about the 15 metre line was talked about too but now I know what goes through my wife's head when I try to explain rugby’s 50:22 kicking laws.
Well done to all the organisers and sponsors for an excellent event and thanks of course to Agnew Leasing for the invite!

😃 This Sunday sees us as the official match sponsor, as SWINTON LIONS RLFC take on Dewsbury Rams in the Betfred Championship. Looking forward to being part of the day. See you there!
Since this is the Open week (151 st Open is currently being played at Liverpool), thought should pen a few lessons from golf which have helped me at work. (Caveat - my golf scores are nothing to write home about)
1. Golf is one the few games which even at championship level, one keeps their own scores. Always do the right thing at all times do assuming no one is watching.
2. At a club or at an amateur level, golfers are always trying to improve their handicap. On a daily basis try to be a better version of yourself.
3. Play the course not the opponents. In Business as in Golf focus on the environment rather than on the competition and losing sight of the big picture.
4. As Tiger Woods famously told his son Charlie, the most important shot in golf is the next one. If something is not working, best to learn your lessons and move on.
5. There is a old golf saying, “Drive for show, putt for dough “. Closing the deal is an integral part of business.

It’s been a brilliant start to the season and introduction to men’s football for Glen Sani at Bridlington Town, 3 goals so far and no sign of letting up.
The coach is cleverly moulding him into a left sided forward, making the most of his natural attributes.
Keep up the good work! 👊🏻
