75 Years of Human Rights: Reflecting on Progress, Demanding Change On this Human Rights Day, we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a landmark document that enshrined fundamental rights for all. While we recognize the progress made, there is still much work to do. We can celebrate the following achievements: -Universal recognition: Today, human rights are more recognized than ever, with the UDHR translated into over 500 languages. -Expanding protection: The UDHR has laid the foundation for an ever-evolving system, protecting vulnerable groups like indigenous peoples and migrants. However, we face persistent challenges: -Exploding inequalities: Pandemics, conflicts, and inequalities continue to threaten the rights of many. -Global challenges: Racism, climate change, and a morally bankrupt global financial system demand urgent action. Abunx stands with the UDHR. We believe in the universality of human rights and strive to build a world where everyone enjoys freedom, equality, and justice. Join us in demanding change: -Amplify the voices of the marginalized. -Hold leaders accountable for upholding human rights. -Take action in your own communities. Together, we can make the promise of the UDHR a reality for all by taking collective action and fulfilling our respective roles. #HumanRightsDay #UDHR75 #MakeHumanRightsReal #Abunx

🌐 Celebrating 75 Years of Human Rights: Freedom, Equality, and Justice for All! 🕊️ On this World Human Rights Day, we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a pivotal global commitment to the inherent rights of every individual. Enshrined in 1948, the UDHR stands as a beacon, affirming that every person, regardless of background, is entitled to dignity, equality, and justice. **2023 Theme: Freedom, Equality, and Justice for All** As we reflect on the decades since the UDHR's adoption, we acknowledge the progress made in recognizing and safeguarding human rights globally. From the foundation laid by the UDHR, the human rights protection system has expanded to include vulnerable groups, emphasizing the importance of inclusion for persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples, and migrants. Yet, as we face current challenges like pandemics, conflicts, inequality explosions, and climate change, the values embedded in the UDHR serve as guiding principles for collective action, ensuring that no one is left behind. The Human Rights 75 initiative, spanning the entire year, seeks to amplify understanding and action towards the universality of the UDHR and the activism associated with it. **Honoring December 10th: A Date of Significance** The chosen date pays homage to the UN General Assembly's adoption of the UDHR on December 10, 1948. Human Rights Day serves as a reminder of the continuous struggle for human rights and marks a moment for high-level discussions, cultural events, and exhibitions addressing pertinent human rights issues. Let us, as a global community, recommit ourselves to upholding the principles of the UDHR, ensuring that the promise of dignity and equality prevails amid the challenges of our times. 🌍🤝 #HumanRightsDay #UDHR75 #FreedomForAll

Today proudly marks the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This historic document proclaims the inalienable rights of every human being, irrespective of their background or beliefs. It's a testament to our shared commitment to dignity, freedom, and justice for all. Envisioned in the aftermath of World War II, the UDHR was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. It outlines fundamental human rights, is universally safeguarded, and is available in over 500 languages, making it one of the most translated documents globally. This year's theme, 'Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All,' is a poignant reminder of these timeless values, especially in a world beset by many challenges, including pandemics, wars, and inequality. The UDHR's principles should remain vital guideposts in our shared mission to ensure that in our response to these crises, no one is left behind As we observe the 75th anniversary of the UDHR, we reaffirm our commitment to human rights and equality. Let us stand together for a future where these principles are more than words on paper, and they shape our daily lives. Today we celebrate 75 years since the #UDHR was signed, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It's World #HumanRights Day. Rights exist beyond the paper that declares them, yet enjoying our rights, living in societies and in a world that promotes a culture of rights, where we all get to thrive, that is an aspirational thing. The world envisioned in our normative (norm-making) declarations and treaties is not yet here. We continue to have work to do. Over the weekend, we had the chance to celebrate and acknowledge the UN’s Human Rights Day. This is such an important moment in our modern world as it forces us to reflect on the values agreed almost a century ago when the majority of countries around the globe decided that their futures lie in a long, enduring peace. In fact, it was 75 years ago that world leaders signed a landmark document: the Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR). A set of guidelines that would help countries navigate toward building more inclusive, respectful societies. Keeping this in mind, I want to challenge myself and my peers to continue to hold true to the values embodied in the UDHR and do my best to create an environment that is mindful of them: both at work and at home. In fact, it’s important, as economic inequality grows in certain parts of the world, to accept that … 💻Work or quality employment is a basic human right; 👥We all have the right to work in environments that are safe, inclusive, respectful and which protect at-risk or minority groups; and 💰We all have the right to a dignified living wage that allows us to pursue our dreams and realise our full human potential. This is a big challenge, but I believe that if we collectively pursue it, our world will be a happier, safer place. https://lnkd.in/dzJDa967 #GiGroupHolding #HumanRightsDay #UDHR #righttoemployment
