As we celebrate #PrideMonth, it's essential to remember that being an ally doesn't end when June does. True allyship means standing with the LGBTQIA+ community year-round, advocating for equality, and fostering inclusive environments where everyone feels valued and respected. Here are a few ways to practice allyship all year long: +Listen and Learn: Hear the stories and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Understanding their perspectives can help us become better allies. +Speak Up: Challenge discriminatory remarks or actions, whether in the workplace or elsewhere. Silence can be interpreted as acceptance. +Support LGBTQIA+ Organizations: Volunteer your time or donate to causes that advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and well-being. +Create Inclusive Spaces: Whether at work, home, or in social settings, strive to create environments where everyone feels safe and included. Allyship starts with a belief in equality. But that's just the beginning. It means leaning into acceptance of lived experiences. Actively fighting against oppression. Truly understanding your own privilege and using it to stand with and for others so that we all benefit from the steps toward equality. There's always been purposeful effort by Mediavine team members to make sure we can all show up exactly as who we are and be accepted wholly. A meaningful Pride month at your organization: Recognizing the importance of equity and inclusion and matching that recognition with action to improve and address gaps. An opportunity to reflect on how your organization interacts with, engages and empowers the LGBTQIA+ community. A moment to take stock and consider updating your diversity statement. A real and measurable effort towards reaching this often marginalized community through focused programming and targeted campaigns.

National Coming Out Day is an annual LGBTQIA+ awareness day observed on October 11 to support anyone "coming out of the closet". Hear from Omar Farías, VMD, Director of Scientific & Academic Affairs at Hill's, about what National Coming Out Day means to him: National Coming Out Day reminds me how privileged I am.  I get to share with my world  that I am an out and proud, cis gay man. But, coming out does not happen in a day, it is a process. A process, in which I had to learn to love myself first, and chose my happiness over everything else. It is also a reminder that not everyone is safe to come out in the environment in which they live, and that each individual chooses their own path.  Days like these are important so that one day, everyone feels safe, and is safe to live their authentic life.
