FYI...Maintenance Information..The Yuma East Wetlands will remain open, but recommend parking in Riverside Park to access the East Wetlands which is located below the Yuma Territorial Prison parking lot. The pathway that links the East Wetlands to the western section of Gateway Park will also be closed directly underneath the bridge for construction. The City of Yuma is asking park visitors to avoid the construction area and for drivers to be cautious when driving around the area. Closures could stay in effect for the construction of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) I-8 Colorado River Viaduct Bridge project and could last into September. Caltrans will first replace the concrete slabs at the approach point to the bridge, then remove any unsound concrete, and replace defective guardrail said the City of Yuma. They will also replace seismic bearings, and then add a protective coating to the pavement surface, said the City of Yuma. There will also be lane closures and some full closures on the highway, and most of the roadway work will be done at night, including the phases of construction where I-8 will completely close say the City of Yuma. The City of Yuma says that details on the closures will begin once construction of the bridge support towers is close to completion and that there will be preliminary signage about the closures. https://lnkd.in/g79fNHY5

Seven years after completing the Ohio River Bridges Project, Indiana and Kentucky are well underway with another partnership, I-69 ORX, to build a three-section megaproject to connect Evansville, Ind., and Henderson, Ky. The $158-million Section 1, led by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, began last year and includes a six-mile extension of I-69, 15 new and rehabilitated bridges, new interchanges at U.S. Routes 41 and 60 and a reconstructed interchange at KY 351. According to lead contractor Parsons, work on Section 1 is 30% toward its 2025 completion target, with more than 800,000 cu yd of embankment, nearly two dozen structural beams set, and more than 3,500 cu yd of concrete poured. Meanwhile, the Indiana Dept. of Transportation plans to let a contract in November for Section 3, which encompasses roadways and bridges on the north side of the river. The section’s two-year construction phase is expected to begin in early 2024.

Reminder: Construction at Five Points began today, January 29th. We will share information from PennDOT as it becomes available. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) recently announced that construction will begin on Monday, January 29, on a $14.2 million project to improve travel and safety at Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike), Route 463 (Horsham Road/Cowpath Road), and Business U.S. 202 (Doylestown Road) Intersection, commonly referred to as Five-Points Intersection, in Montgomery Township, Montgomery County. Under this intersection improvement project, PennDOT's contractor will install additional through lanes at the intersection approaches in both directions on Route 463 (Horsham Road/Cowpath Road) and on southbound Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike). Widening of the roadway will allow for 18 travel lanes to approach the intersection, compared to the existing 15 travel lanes, to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes. Other improvements include upgrading and retiming signalization; installing sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, and guide rail; upgrading stormwater drainage, signage, and pavement markings; adjusting driveway access; and reducing erosion sediment. In addition, the intersection improvements on Route 463 (Horsham Road/Cowpath Road) and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) will enhance traffic flow for westbound Route 463 (Horsham Road) motorists turning right onto northbound Business U.S. 202 (Doylestown Road). Beginning, Monday, January 29, through early March, periodic lane closures will take place for tree clearing and utility work at the following locations: ➡ Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) between North Wales Road to McLaughlin Road ➡Route 463 (Cowpath Road/Horsham Road) between Lansdale Avenue and North Wales Road; and ➡Business U.S. 202 (Doylestown Road) between Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) and Betty's Avenue Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur.
