Thrilled to share that our Berkeley SkyDeck Pad-13 journey has been transformative! The Archonet team extends gratitude to the entire SkyDeck team – Ekin Günaysu, Gordon Peng, Sibyl Chen & Caroline Winnett, for their guidance and support. Special thanks to Skydeck advisors Peter Giordano, John Peters, Po Chi Wu, Sree Chadalavada, Himanshu B., whose insights refined our focus and value proposition effectively and helped us position ourselves effectively in the market. In three months, we've made significant progress on multiple fronts. Key highlights include: 🛠️ Product: Introduced designer connection features, connecting property owners with interior designers/ architects. Over 160 projects showcased on our platform, with 45+ designers ready to turn dreams into reality. 📈 Traction: First paying customer won, nurturing a promising client pipeline. 👥 People: Onboarded Balu Masti as full-time advisor, collaborated with interns from University of California, Berkeley and UC San Diego. Additionally, partnership with RV University brought exceptional tech interns to Archonet. We also got chance to pitch at Skydeck's Pad-13 & IPP Pitch Competition, thanks to judges Champ Suthipongchai, Danielle D'Agostaro, David Riemer for valuable feedback. MicroManufacturing (independent small businesses) sharing OpenSource designs (centralized catalog of vehicle designs and tutorials) of MicroMobility and MiniMobility (cheap, efficient, safe vehicles) can create the simple local transportation systems that we need to reduce emissions, reduce inequities, and reduce infrastructure costs while improving health. We can boost local economies and education with STEM programs to feed these small businesses. It's a win all the way around. This would depend on protected and connected bike path expansion to accommodate local commuting with micro and mini mobility.

Bringing innovation to Western MD!!

Two weeks ago, I was part of the jury that awarded the best VCP presentations during the summer semester 2024 closing event of DLab, the interdisciplinary certificate program in "Digital Technology Management" @ TU Dortmund. I was deeply impressed by the pitches of all teams and encouraged all students to further pursue their ideas. You totally rocked, guys!!! Our society needs students like these who are creative and driven to make the world into a better place. Many pitches focused on sustainability and equity (as in enabling participation) And we (at Uni) need to teach them how to turn these ideas and visions into reality. Exactly, what DLab and CET do at TU Dortmund University. And we (after Uni) need to enable them to build companies that implement, validate, and scale their ideas. Here (as far as I can tell) we still have some work to do in Germany: normalising and celebrating entrepreneurship, failing and trying again, and funding ideas and people as part of cultivating an eco system that will help Europe (and especially Germany) catch up with other world regions on innovation.
