A rail vision in Sweden is beeing created. We all have different roles that enable travel and transport "from door to door" in the entire transport chain. A vision for the railway in Sweden will help us to jointly strengthen the attractiveness of the railway so that more people want to choose the railway as part of a complete stransport solution when they need to travel and transport goods. We will also be able to face new challenges together when, for example, industrial establishments increase in northern Sweden, military activity increases and cross-border issues come into a new light. https://lnkd.in/d_3Npznu

100 - 60 - 40 - Curious what these numbers mean? 🙂 On 12th September 1924, Franz Walter founded the "Speditionsbüro F. Walter" in Vienna. This marked the beginning of a century-long journey in logistics and transportation. In 1964, LKW WALTER took a significant step forward by expanding its operations internationally. This move set the stage for our European presence and reinforced our commitment to providing exceptional logistics solutions across borders. 1984 was another milestone year for LKW WALTER as we embraced the concept of combined transport. By integrating road and water or road and rail, we pioneered innovative transportation solutions that enhanced efficiency and sustainability. This approach not only revolutionized our operations but also contributed to a greener and more interconnected Europe. #LKWWalter #Logistics #Anniversary #Innovation #CombinedTransport #greentransports

👉2020… On this night, eighty years ago, a Lancaster took off from England at 20:20GMT to join a force of another 144 Lancasters and 1 Mosquito to attack the aircraft factory near Toulouse in France. That one Lancaster (ME685) and her 7 crew never made it home…but their service is not forgotten. They’re not alone, even today, nor tomorrow, and, importantly, neither are you (even though it may feel like it sometimes). Considerate of your busy schedule today then, wherever you may be in this world at 2020GMT, 5 April, could you find a moment to pause, perhaps light a candle, and reflect not just on the loss of life then, but what ‘to serve’ means to you today, if indeed it means anything at all, such that tomorrow might be better than today? Respectful of your time, I’d also like to offer you this article by Jemima Kelly by way of further illumination from dark to light… https://lnkd.in/eFHAC8gN “We need to tell our kids a different story about success . . . that says serving others is cool and honourable…we held up leaders not because they were rich, not because they were famous, but because of their passion to serve and the sacrifices they made to lift up other people. We’ve got to make that important again.” #rolemodels That’s why House is in Toulouse; to support role models like Gilles COLLAVERI, like Peter Fitzpatrick AO, AM (Mil), FSAE, GAICD, JP, like Richard Prime and the many others who quietly go about serving others such that others may gain❤️ What does ‘to serve’ mean to you today…?

Christmas is just a few days away and the New Year is already upon us! When I look back on 2023, it was a year of major challenges worldwide. The war in Ukraine is still not over and the Middle East conflict has flared up again. The suffering of the people affected is immeasurable. Perhaps the greatest challenge at this time is the uncertainty. It is visible for all of us. But uncertainty must not lead to insecurity. In the midst of difficult times, we have managed to stabilize MAN and position it robustly for the future. For me personally, it is incredibly great to see what we have achieved this year by joining forces. Despite all the uncertainties, this makes me optimistic about the coming year. In 2024, our work on the electrification of our existing products will gain significant momentum. For example, we are eagerly awaiting the delivery of our new eTruck to the first customers. I would like to thank my colleagues at MAN for their great commitment and our customers and partners for their trusting cooperation. I wish you all a festive holiday season and a good start to a successful 2024! #mantruckandbus #transformation #MANSustainability #Electrification #eTruck

National Defense Transportation Day – May 17, 2024 The National Defense Transportation Day was first signed into a resolution in 1957 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Then in 1962, Congress updated the resolution by announcing a National Defense Transportation Week in May. The week falls on different days each year depending on when the third Friday of May takes place. The day aims to celebrate the various societal contributions of the transportation sector. In President Lyndon B. Johnson’s 1968 speech, he credited the country’s rapid progress and growth to its transportation system. The president took note to mention that, 100 years ago, it took the average American four weeks to travel from San Francisco to New York. The concerned traveler would have to travel to Central America by ship, crossing the Isthmus on a mule wagon. However, developments in the transportation system cut the traveling time down to just 10 days. Much of America’s economy is dependent on the transportation sector, and this is not only because of the common person’s regular usage of the services but also because of the building and maintenance costs that the sector incurs each year. The transportation services must always be kept up to date in order for them to work efficiently. Additionally, the operating personnel must be adequately compensated for their day-in and day-out services to society at large. Therefore, to recognize the importance of the transportation sector, special ceremonies, transport expos, contests, etc. are held. #PhoenixDelivers #loggies #dts
