Some dates are always special such as today, the date when we launched Silver Talkies Club six years ago in 2018, based on the inputs from attendees of our events. They wanted to meet more often, know their co-participants better and have more fun and engaging opportunities. Hence Silver Talkies Club was born in a time and age when active ageing, loneliness and isolation among older adults were not spoken about or discussed much in our country. I was in fact told by many peers that I was playing in a small niche field. Fast forward to 2024, almost every new player in the senior care space is looking at addressing similar issues with similar models. Did we start too early or did they start too late? I think it is immaterial for as they say that all's well that ends well. What is most heartening for me is to note that in the pic below all the people who became members in 2018 are still members in 2024, with the exception of one member whom we lost a few months ago. Since September 1, 2018, I have been at DirectTrust as President and CEO - and the time has flown by.  As I take stock now, we have grown four times bigger by most measures. The number of Direct Secure Messages sent and received per quarter has gone from about 50 million to over 200 million.  Our network has grown from fewer than 1 billion transactions cumulatively, and recently passed 4 billion.  Our team is 4 times bigger, as is our annual budget. I am so proud of our accomplishments.  We became an ANSI accredited standards development organization, acquired SAFE Identity, and this year, merged with the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC).  I have long made it clear to my Board that we wanted to pivot to a focus on TRUST while driving the use and usability of Direct.  Today we offer multiple services to our members and the industry including accreditation, HITRUST assessment and technical trust services for Direct Secure Messaging, Carequality, eHealth Exchange, and TEFCA.  We collaborate with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), CMS, HHS, WEDI , The Sequoia Project, CommonWell Health Alliance, Civitas Networks for Health, CARIN Alliance, and many more organizations as well as our members. Our membership today is extremely diverse beyond even the HIT companies, payers and providers in the healthcare sector to include app companies, social care organizations, and identity companies.   Our standards efforts include work to enable sensitive information exchange within the community even beyond healthcare. We are engaging with cloud fax vendors to establish standards for trustworthy exchange of data by fax. We are working with the remote online notaries to enable trusted communication of health documents.  We are building out new accreditation programs to improve trust in the consumer health application ecosystem to add to our portfolio of accreditations that assess compliance for nearly 100 healthcare companies large and small.  You should watch us, we are just getting started! After 14 years + 2 days of marriage, here's my best advice: Find a partner who makes you a better person. From the beginning of our marriage, Judson's sense of adventure and endless encouragement led me down the most incredible path. Here's a list of things I would have never done without him in my life: 1. Complete 2 sprint triathlons 2. Overcome my fear of open-water swimming (discovered this while training for #1 😂 ) 3. Complete a Century Ride 4. Camp in a tent for more than 1 night 5. Leave my corporate job after 13 years 6. Eat Chick-fil-A more than once a week 7. Jump off a cliff into a waterfall 8. Change thousands of dirty diapers for 3 kids 9. Learn the joy of a good whiteboard session 10. Launch my own business 11. Develop a personal relationship with God Can't wait to see what we accomplish in the next 14! 😁 #advice

It's always a party at Door No. 3! Hat tip for celebrating 30 years in business. I'm grateful to be part of writing this current chapter. From a new business perspective, it's no small feat to grow an agency. For 30 years, no less. Striking the right balance of growth is a delicate dance. Providing excellent care for your existing clients while running ahead to cultivate new clients. Building a sticky culture where top talent wants to stay while creating demand to grow the bench. Marketing for others, while also marketing for yourself. Staying heads down in the work while staying up on constantly evolving trends. You get it. Holding all of these tensions is the daily work of growth. It's the daily inputs, those little disciplines that compound over time. Keep at it today!
