As Pensacola Christian College begins its 50th year, a theme that has been present during opening meetings has been "To God Be the Glory." I am reminded of 1 Corinthians 10:31-33 which states:
"31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved."
In general, it is a good practice to avoid 100% statements (all, none, always, never, etc.). What I find interesting in this passage is that Paul through inspiration of God uses no less than three 100% statements. "All" I do should be to the glory of God. I am to give "none" offence - I do not want to be the barrier to someone coming to God. Then finally, my actions are to seek not my own profit but that of "all me.....that they might be saved."
I would like to encourage you whether as an educator or as a businessman or some other professional, to keep the 100% where God does.
Share your favorite 100% statement from God the comments please.
