Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd Set to Boost Manufacturing Workforce, Generating Hundreds of New Jobs at Gaydon and St Athan/ #BroTathan Sites. Luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin is gearing up for expansion, announcing plans to bolster its UK manufacturing workforce by over 400 technicians. This move comes in anticipation of ramped-up production for its upcoming line of sports cars and the highly anticipated DBX707 luxury SUV. With the impending launch of the new Vantage and DB12 models, coupled with the introduction of additional vehicles slated for 2024, and sustained demand for the critically acclaimed DBX707, Aston Martin finds itself in a position to expand its advanced manufacturing team. The company’s headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, and the DBX707 manufacturing facility in St Athan, South Wales, will both see an influx of new talent. The facility in which Aston Martin now operates at St Athan was originally built as a “Super Hangar” in 2002 to encourage MoD to retain its aircraft MRO unit at the airfield but a change of strategy saw maintenance activity dispersed to front line RAF stations and the new build aircraft hangars lay empty for several years before being repurposed as a car factory. Mini erschti 3 Mönet 🇨🇭 🏔 Roughly three months ago my family and I embarked on a new international journey. The decision to re-locate is never an easy one but luckily my wife is always very supportive & always keen for a new adventure! Also from a professional point of view there are things to look at before switching jobs and moving house. One of my first mentors at eBay (Hamish) taught me the following. Never change more than one out of three key professional variables to enhance chances of success in your next career move. 1. The industry you operate in 🚗 ➡ 🚗 For me this clearly stayed the same 'Automotive Classifieds'. I have strong passion for cars and the dynamics of a marketplace where demand and supply come together. 2. The country you operate in 🇳🇱 ➡ 🇨🇭 Obviously this has changed. Intrinsically I like to change my environment and get out of my comfort zone. Getting acquainted with new people, a new culture, a new language (Swiss German) & a new professional environment is really motivating me. 3. The position you have 👨💻 ➡ 👨💻 I'm still behind a laptop and I'm still solving for customer pain points in the used car industry whilst trying to grow the business from '1' to '2' with a small team of highly motivated people eager to make impact. This never gets boring to me! So far this has really helped me and also my first three months at SMG Swiss Marketplace Group were great! Why? 1. Open, motivated and smart people across the organisation. People are very direct and there is a lot of transparency this fosters good collaboration this combined with everybody having the right intention to grow together makes it unique. 2. Short and clear decisions paths on various topics. Varying from new ideas that pop-up to more complex projects effective decisions are being made. 3. Just like in every other country there is a lot of room to improve the way used cars are traded, it's the 2nd biggest purchase people make in their lives and still there is a lot of uncertainty in the buying/selling process. All in all a very good start to the new adventure and a big thank you to all the welcoming people at SMG! (Picture from our trip to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn, guess we have to go back some day)

Sarah Harmeier, our Director Sales & Marketing IAM at the Mönchengladbach location, impressively proves that as a woman you can combine family and career brilliantly. After several academic degrees and a master's thesis in Independent Automotive Aftermarket (IAM), Sarah started her professional career at IAM in 2008 and has stayed there ever since. Starting 2021, the mother of a daughter has been responsible for Marketing & Sales in our Aftermarket business. It is not always easy to reconcile family and career, especially in management positions. But it was clear to Sarah Harmeier early on that she would not want to choose between having children or a responsible management position. And indeed, she managed to do both: today, her field of work includes the management and development of the Sales and Marketing departments - an important key position at ACPS Automotive. In her view, maintaining a balance between family and career is a tough act. Because “somehow something always comes up short. Even if it's 'just' sport or leisure time. But I try to stay relatively relaxed and not meticulously try to always precisely maintain a balance." And who says that both roles - family and career - always have to oppose each other? In terms of leadership, her personal situation has also opened up new perspectives for her: On the topics of efficiency in the job, for example, composure in conflicts, and understanding for work-life balance among her employees. Among other things, ACPS Automotive supports the compatibility of family and career with home office and flexible working hours. "I also have the feeling that ACPS Automotive and my boss have given me a lot of trust and flexibility.
