Here's a quick litmus test for whether your company is thinking about 'value' rather than just cash: how does the approval process to spend £300 compare with the approval process to invite 8 senior engineers to a 60-minute meeting?

Helping you become a better software engineer through coding challenges that build real applications.

“A fool is someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing” And when it comes to training many organisations are foolish. They consider the cost of the training, but ignore the cost of not doing the training. For example: 💰The typical cost of training is around $1000-$2000. What's the cost of: 💰Losing an experienced engineer and all their knowledge? 💰Hiring a replacement engineer? 💰Getting them productive? 💰Delivering late because your team is running below capacity? 💰Allowing critical problems to go undetected? 💰Fixing technical debt caused by inexperience? Most $100K problems have $1K solutions.
