Navigating Change: Finding Gratitude in Life's Transitions As I sip my coffee and look out at the sea of moving boxes,( so many in the living room!!!) I can’t help but feel grateful. After making our final move before my husband retires( yay, only three years left) from Kansas to our new temporary home in Pittsburgh, PA, this is the first time I’ve been able to keep my job during a move. Over the last decade, we’ve moved several times to support my husband's military career, and each time, me having to uproot my career. It’s been challenging but also filled with adventures. However, I'm incredibly thankful that almost 2 ½ years ago, I found a company, Informa, that has allowed me to flourish in my role and stay with them through our recent move. And they even give employees two days off if they're moving! Informa isn’t just great for allowing me to work remotely; there are many other fantastic aspects of being part of the organization. If you want to learn more about what makes it so great, drop me a line! And if you're a military spouse who can relate to uprooting your career and looking for a place that values your experience and supports work-life balance, let's chat! 😊 Wish me luck as I dive into these boxes and start unpacking! #lifeatinforma #armyfamily #militarylife #militaryspouse

Black Diamond proudly presents our May 2024 Employee of the Month, Brian Kent on this #SpotlightSaturday! Congratulations to Brian for his third year as our skilled IT Assistant! Brian has played an integral part in supporting our Black Diamond team by ensuring our IT systems are consistently available and reliable. His dedication to his role enables Black Diamond to run smoothly behind the scenes and in the field. Continue reading to get to know and appreciate him the way we do! Q: What’s a fun fact about yourself that many people may not know about you? 🥝 I lived in New Zealand for two years. This was before “Lord of the Rings” was filmed, so no, I didn’t get to see any of the sets. You won’t believe how many times I’ve been asked that question! Q: Can you share a piece of advice or a lesson you've learned in your career that has stuck with you? 🏆 “There’s no I in team,” so we succeed and fail together. If you’re unsure about something, always ask! It’s important to work together to solve a problem before it becomes a larger one. Q: What are your interests or hobbies? 📷 I really enjoy photography - specifically city life and natural life. Time lapses and panoramas are two of my favorite techniques for capturing a beautiful moment in time. Q: How do you handle challenges and setbacks at work to overcome those obstacles? 🔍 Whenever I encounter a challenge, I look at things analytically and approach the situation step by step. Giving myself a clear framework for getting from point A to point B is key to helping me solve a problem. Congratulations again Brian - and thank you for everything you do to keep the IT systems running smoothly for our entire Black Diamond team! Happy Monday, everyone! It's the start of a new week, which means another opportunity to work towards our career dreams. What are you focusing on this week? Whatever you're trying to achieve this week, remember to prioritize honesty! As the Human Resources Director at Next Level Solutions, I try to maintain trust with all our employees. If you lose the trust of those around you, it is almost impossible to get it back. 👉 Don't engage in activities that will make others doubt your honesty and integrity. Once you lose that, it’s hard to gain it back. 👉 Don't forget to appreciate those around you and give credit where credit is due. 👉 Have the willingness to work extremely hard. Meet every commitment with hard work and everyone around you will forgive a certain lack of skill and experience. 👉 Even if you lack experience, a willingness to work hard can go a long way. Let's make this week amazing! #nls #dogoodwork #nexevelsolutions #mondayvibes

Stacia Gerdts recently celebrated her 10-year anniversary working at Morningside. Congratulations, Stacia! We asked Stacia a series of questions about her time at Morningside over the years. Here's what she said: Q: What’s something you’ve done at Morningside that you’re proud of? A: Became a Program Manager Q: Do you have any advice for someone new to this field? A: Take it one day at a time, continue to be open to learning and growing, be patient with yourself, the people served and stakeholders and be present. You will be greatly rewarded by the relationships you build. Q: What originally brought you into this field and fueled your passion? A: I realized the industry I’d been in for 20+ years was drastically changing, and my current employer [at the time] was not. I felt I had two options; change employers to continue my career in that field or I could look for a whole new career, as I still had many, many, years to work. I had developed a strong relationship with Morningside for at least 10 years through my (previous) employer, and on a more personal level, I've had a desire to work with folks experiencing life differently since high school, and felt this was a good opportunity to take a risk. Q: What have you learned from your 10 years with Morningside? A: I couldn’t have imagined the personal growth I've made and the wonderful people I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know. I am truly grateful to Morningside for believing in me and supporting my growth. I have learned everything! 😊 I had 0 experience before I came to Morningside and have learned so many things, I couldn't even begin to list them. Q: What has been your most impactful memory at Morningside? A: My most impactful memories are of the clients we serve, how it feels, and what a privilege it is for me to be a part of their successes and challenges, as well as see the pride they carry for [their] accomplishments. We get to see some amazing people do amazing things. Nothing can compare to that! #Morningside #supportiveemployment #ProgramManager #individualemployment #workanniversary #Congratulations #successfulmilestones #disabilityadvocacy

🌟 Meet the Team: Trace! 🌟 Introducing Trace, our amazing, hilarious, fun, sweary, and passionate Chief Engagement Officer at Canopy SDA! Trace is all about working with participants and Support Coordinators to get participants into the right SDA homes for them. Let's get to know her a little better! 1. Are you a stay-up-late person or a wake-up-early person? "I love to stay up late when I don't have to get up early the following day! I definitely need my sleep and must go to bed before 10pm if I have any chance of being productive on a weekday. I have never been an early bird!" 2. If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be? "This is actually really tough! My first thought was 'the ability to know how someone is feeling/thinking whenever I wanted to'... but that would be a really heavy power. I would actually probably, if given the chance, say 'to be able to fly' like Superman. Catch me in the clouds." 3. What is the best piece of advice that has ever been given to you? "'You are not your thoughts.' I can easily get into a spiral of yukky thoughts. When I learned they are just that—'thoughts' and not 'truths'—I was able to relax and go easier on myself. In work, the best advice I was given is 'it is only as hard as the next step.'" 4. What do you love about your role at Canopy SDA? "The people I get to spend time with, my colleagues, and the people we are building for." We are so lucky to have Trace on our team, bringing her unique energy and passion to everything she does. 💖✨ 👉 Want to learn more about our team and what we do at Canopy SDA? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝗳 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 I’m currently on a journey looking for my next role and a warm wave of nostalgia washes over me, taking me back to my previous role. It was a time when our office was more than just a workplace; it was a vibrant community bubble, a melting pot of diverse backgrounds and cultures. We were a unique combination, each member bringing their own distinct melody to the symphony of our daily grind. Our differences were not just acknowledged—they were celebrated. It was understood that these very differences were the threads that wove us into a stronger whole. Working towards a common goal, we were like a family. Sure, we had our moments of dysfunction—like any family does—but these moments never overshadowed the relationships and the collective drive that bound us. We didn’t bother with labels. Titles and designations were secondary to the shared vision that fuelled our efforts. I often compared our team to a family, and I stand by that comparison. We had our share of squabbles and disagreements, akin to the playful bickering one might find at a family reunion. Yet, at the end of the day, we knew that we had each other’s backs. In those days, success was a communal celebration, and every small victory was a testament to our unity in diversity. We were a testament to the idea that when people come together, setting aside prejudices and embracing each other’s strengths, remarkable things can happen. So here’s to the good old days—may they remind us of the beauty in diversity and the strength in unity. May they inspire us to recreate that magic in our current endeavours, no matter where life takes us. #UnityInDiversity,#TeamSpirit, #NostalgicMoments
