Commercial & Residential Plumbing Automation Technologies. Today's Water Control Systems increasing Sustainability.
Tip of my hat to all you out there with the many U.S. Public School Districts Facility & Campus Maintenance Teams! Limited fiscal budgets, deferred maintenance & never ending daily punch list of plumbing fixes! Sometimes a little outside help is needed to find the hidden locations of abnormally high water usage bills. Armed with a site map of the 4 leak areas, the meters spinning will slow down one by one as staff has the time to patch them! In many cities the long time public school system buildings & campuses are the largest water end user with miles of every type of critical plumbing piping for all those restrooms, cafeterias & green sports fields of dreams! But I understand why all the old lines get another in house patch instead of fully replaced. The good news, a little smart technology help is on the way! #facilitymaintenance #leakdetection #plumbing

Did you know? PSD supports 297 HVAC systems district-wide, and the average age of those systems is 23 years. Our maintenance team maintains 47 site-building HVAC systems and 221 Portable Classroom BARD (wall-mounted) HVAC Systems. Pretty impressive, right? Last school year, one of two coil sets in Maplewood's cooling tower failed, reducing our ability to maintain cooler temperatures in the building. On the 11th, crews installed a new left-side coil to Maplewood's cooling tower; as you can see, it was a big job. Maintaining our buildings and equipment is a large part of our capital budget. Our buildings are aging, and as we experience more wear and tear due to growing enrollment, it becomes even more vital to care for our district assets. As responsible stewards of taxpayer funds, there’s a delicate balance between ensuring quality education for our students and managing our resources prudently. We take this responsibility seriously and will continue prioritizing these values in our decision-making process. #FoundationsForOurFuture #PuyallupSD

Summer Is A Great Time to Get Your School Maintenance Carried Out With Summer approaching it’s a great time to start to think about what maintenance and/or refurbishment work you need to carry out. When children and staff break for the summer holidays it means that classrooms are empty and work can be done without causing disruptions to staff, children, teaching and classes. Your school maintenance and/or refurbishment work is something that needs to be planned in advance. Leaving it to the last minute is a mistake. With the six week summer break coming up it’s all too easy to think you’ll have plenty of time to have your maintenance or refurbishment work carried out. However this isn’t the case. School maintenance and refurbishment work takes time and planning. By planning in advance work can be carried out during the summer and you can avoid school and class interruptions when the new school term starts in September and staff and children can concentrate on teaching and learning rather than trying to work around noise and workmen! The First Step - Put together what work needs to be done. A detailed list is a great place to start. You can then fill in additional information as to which work should take priority and add any additional information you think will be helpful. For example: Plumbing: such as replacing broken toilets, repair leaking taps CCTV Survey: understand the condition and location of your drains to help with planning Drainage: planned works for repairs or replacement Following an initial site visit, Drain Doctor will work with you to create a bespoke package for you for both remedial and preventive work to fit around your timescale and budget. All it takes to start the process is a telephone call 0333 323 4580 or email guildford@draindoctor.co.uk #schoolmaintenance #FacilityManagement #SummerPreparation

When managing a school or municipal building, it's crucial to stay on top of all the important elements that keep the building functioning smoothly. Unfortunately, with such a large and complex space to oversee, it's easy for certain tasks to get pushed to the backburner. So, don't let it fall by the wayside - make sure to prioritize regular maintenance and updates for your building's operating system.

It’s almost time for school doors to close, and for winter break clean up and minor construction activities to begin. Are you ready for it? While a closed school can be a great time to take advantage of unoccupied buildings for deep cleaning, repairs, and maintenance, is also a time that presents higher risks of theft, arson, and vandalism. As Winter break nears, keep in mind the following safety and maintenance tips to protect your assets: Keys For schools that practice a key-return system, check with all teachers, teacher aides, school admin, coaches, and other personnel before they leave for the summer to make sure all school keys are accounted for. Take note of staff members who must retain their keys for summer use. Money Remove money from the school building. Keep any essential petty cash in a locked safe and reconcile periodically. Building Maintenance Inspect all buildings and document the inspections. Thoroughly check outdoor facilities, and correct any deficiencies found during inspections. Lighting - Interior and Exterior Check all lighting, inside and out. Replace lights and lighting equipment as needed. Periodically check night lighting to ensure it is properly functioning. Remember to include illuminated exit signs and emergency lighting (including battery packs) in your inspection and maintenance routine. Enjoy the Holidays with the knowledge you were prepared for the break! Happy Holidays from All Star Environmental Services Inc.
