Celebrating International Women’s Day: Inspiring Inclusion Today, on International Women’s Day, we are proud to reflect on the incredible strides we have made towards fostering a culture of inclusion and respect within our company. We had the privilege of hosting an inspiring panel discussion with an open forum where voices were heard from all corners of our business. Hosted by Hannah Lanfear Advocacy & Content Manager, and a panel that included Dawn Davies Buying Director, Ashley Wickham-Byrne Human Resources Director, Liz Lock Brand Director, Gemma de Jesus Head of Whisky.Auction, Corina Casu Customer Experience Manager, James Childs Regional Sales Manager and Oliver McKinley Event & Marketing Coordinator, the discussion delved into crucial topics surrounding inclusion and equal opportunities. By sharing personal experiences through to addressing emerging challenges, each panellist brought their own unique perspective that added depth to the conversation. At our company, we firmly believe in the power of open discussions to drive positive change. By providing a platform where diverse voices can be heard, we not only raise awareness but also actively support each other in navigating new challenges that arise. As we commemorate International Women’s Day and this year’s theme of Inspiring Inclusion, we want to carry forward the spirit of this panel discussion. It's Neurodiversity Celebration Week and here's a great example of how a company can unlock the potential of neurodiverse colleagues through changes to recruitment and career development and providing support. bp set up a Neurodiversity Group that raises awareness by sharing experiences at town halls and events. It's part of a network of BRGs at the company that help create a sense of belonging among employees and deliver DEI priorities globally. Katharine Descamps shares her own experience of leading the Neurodiversity Group and identifying with as many as five BRG communities. “Imagine if we could harness the intersectionality of all BRGs to transform our companies, innovate new climate change solutions and lead through the energy transition!
