📣 Your company’s secret weapon for attracting top talent is… ...a good candidate experience. Do you give feedback after each round? Are you transparent about the salary and benefits? Do you answer the candidate’s questions truthfully? Is the recruitment process fast or does it stretch out for months? Your company should focus on the candidate experience matters because: 👉 Respect goes both ways: Candidates invest time applying, interviewing, and waiting for feedback. Be responsive, and kind, and acknowledge their efforts. Remember, it's a two-way street! 👉 Transparency is key: Don't leave them in the dark! Offer post-interview feedback and communicate expected wait times. Ghosting is a major turn-off (we'll continue to say this until the end of time). 👉 Positive experiences = top talent: A positive candidate experience attracts and retains the best and brightest. Invest in a strong one, you'll see the difference. Share your thoughts - what are the essential elements of a good candidate experience? How slick are your external recruitment partners? Thursday: 🕑 12pm - Meeting with new client, new job taken on 🕑 1pm - Job advertised 🕑 4pm - First candidate pre interviewed and presented to client Friday: 🕑 8am - Come in to email to interview request for said candidate 🕑 8:30am - Catch up and booked 1st candidate for interview next week 🕑 10am - 2nd candidate pre interviewed and presented to client 🕑 11.30am - Request to see 2nd candidate for interview next week 🕑 1pm - 2nd candidate confirms and interview booked for next week This is a genuine timeline from one scenario last week, within a rough 24hr period I signed, sealed and delivered (almost... not quite there yet, but delivered in a different way) I spend a lot of time after the initial registration speaking and building relationships with candidates too, it's not just one phone call... I know some of you probably hate me for it!! ... Now I am certainly not saying that recruitment is as streamlined as this scenario, gosh, if it was the whole world would be doing it!!! 🌏 However, I am not going to sit there and simmer, I listen, I take note and I act! If the calibre is not right, we will reconvene and start again, but this should be recognised early on in the hiring process 📑 I am here to consult and give honest feedback. Isn't it funny how some companies can make recruitment so complicated? With multiple stages, long feedback cycles, and weeks or even months of delays, it's no wonder candidates and recruiters alike become frustrated. On the other hand, some firms can nail a hire within 7 days from CV submission to the offer being signed. Recruitment should be a relatively simple process, so now is the time to stop overcomplicating things. Let's make recruitment simple again, for the sake of everyone involved. Who knows, you may even end up hiring someone 💡

Applaud your courage in having "difficult conversations" with candidates by telling them they aren't strong enough, don't have enough experience, or simply aren't the right fit. How compassionate and empathetic of you to crush their dreams in such a direct, no-nonsense manner! 😂🤣🤣🤣
