🌐 What is #dysautonomia? Despite affecting more than 70 million people worldwide, chances are you’ve never heard of dysautonomia. Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used to describe many different conditions in which the autonomic nervous system is not working properly. The ANS is responsible for the regulation of automatic functions within the body, such as blood pressure, digestion, heart rate, dilation and constriction of the pupils of the eye, kidney function, and body temperature regulation. A lack of awareness of these conditions in the medical profession means that many patients take years to receive a diagnosis, and even more go undiagnosed. With the arrival of the COVID pandemic and subsequent #LongCOVID crisis, dysautonomia, and specifically postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (#POTS), is receiving much more awareness as it becomes a major condition experienced by #pwLC. At RTHM, you benefit from the latest medical research and from the experience of other patients similar to you. We leverage the latest science and data from all of our patients to find the most effective treatment course in the least amount of time. 🧐 International Privacy Advocate and Cybersecurity Consultant (Available for immediate consulting engagements)🧐
My last post received a lot of attention & exposed some significant cognitive bias to try & deflect from what it was really about. People were jumping to defend the room while ignoring what the room was being used for. It was really about the bolt-to-the-floor bed (Norix ATN120 or similar) designed for high-risk areas relating to 'behavioural health'. This bed is NOT suitable for diagnosis & treatment. It is too low (15 inches tall) & inaccessible from all sides. Using it in an ER is DANGEROUS to both the patient and staff. Yet that is what it is being used for. If you missed (or tried to deflect from) that one key fact, time to take a long hard look at yourself. Imagine you are a disabled or geriatric patient (with difficulty transferring). Imagine you needed bloodwork and an IV (access to two arms). Imagine you need a full examination. Is that happening with a nurse or doctor on their knees? Original post: https://lnkd.in/gUk63pvK
