Quite right! Labour of course needs to avoid turning the clock back and having an election dominated by Brexit, a subject most people no longer want to hear about. BUT, as everyone will see when stuck in queues at Dover or the Channel Tunnel to await fingerprinting, and see food prices rise again because of mishandled and delayed border controls, and the damage to industry by being outside the single market.....the list can go on for ever. A Labour government will had a lot of things to fix, but it can help its strategy for growth to make a priority of reducing friction in trade with the EU, addressing labour shortages and helping our exporters. Going to Europe saying that they are not the Tories will not be enough, and an approach to the EU to improve cooperation can only work if properly and minutely prepared, with a clear idea of what the other side wants. So I hope people preparing for government read this article.
Labour Needs a Clearer Plan for Brexit - The Tories are facing electoral oblivion because of their disastrous embrace of Brexit. But if Labour waits until it is in office to work out how to limit the damage, it may already be too late. My latest https://lnkd.in/ebzwU8HR

“The size of Labour’s majority, coupled with relative political instability in Europe’s other major economies (e.g. France and Germany) should play well for a period of stability, predictability and therefore investment and business growth in the UK". My reaction to the election result has been published this afternoon. You can read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/esrPnFTm

I feel honored and highly privileged assisting minority children and their families to have a brighter future.
The campaign so far has solidified Labour’s large poll lead over the beleaguered Conservatives. The decision by Nigel Farage to take the reins of Reform UK, a challenger party, has intensified the threat to the Tories from their right. Increasingly, therefore, the question is not who will win, but what Labour will do in power. And on economic growth, the avowed centrepiece of Labour’s plan for government, the answer is: TBD! https://lnkd.in/g2U9Nb3z
