12th June 2023 will always be etched in my mind as a special day, a day of learnings and reminders. Before founding POSH at Work (PAW) in 2015, I enjoyed the comfort of a secure job. However, on this day, eight years into PAW’s journey, I found myself navigating uncharted waters, questioning my choices, and grappling with uncertainty. One year later, I can openly acknowledge that period as my lowest – professionally, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I felt adrift, as if my purpose had slipped through my fingers, leaving me uncertain of recovery. Yet, the universe has its unique way of lifting us up, often in the most unexpected ways. During this challenging time, TLS was born. The outpouring of support and well-wishes from family, friends, colleagues, and even so-called “competitors” was overwhelming. It became abundantly clear that I wasn’t alone; a robust network of support stood behind me. On June 17, 2023, I sought the source of my inspiration and the reason behind PAW’s inception – Bhanvari Devi Ji. Within an hour of meeting her, my clarity and purpose were reignited. I rediscovered why I started this journey and what I aimed to achieve. Since then, both TLS and PAW have experienced remarkable success, far beyond my expectations. This success was not a solo endeavour. It was the fruit of the unwavering dedication of the TLS team and the steadfast belief of all our stakeholders. Even in my darkest moments, our stakeholders had faith in us, and the TLS team believed we were destined to succeed. We all encounter good days and bad, moments of triumph and failure. Accepting failure is undeniably tough, but these experiences have taught me the immense value of genuine relationships, both professional and personal. I’ve learned the importance of staying connected to our roots, appreciating those who stand by us, and believing in our resilience to rise and forge ahead. To everyone who has been part of this journey – thank you for your support, your faith, and your unwavering belief in our vision. What are you celebrating this week? Not all achievements have to be significant for you to celebrate. Even small achievements need to be celebrated. Progress is a great thing, and it should be celebrated. I recently published my second short story and have started getting some positive responses from my insurance sales contact. That's what I am celebrating this week. Remember, it's essential to keep learning to do new, fantastic things and celebrate the small wins that you achieve from learning new things. Loyalty and dedication is just a word in the private sector!

One day I was told that medals rust and certificates start to get damaged over time. I was told this while trying to cheer myself up after losing a competition for which I had prepared exhaustively for months. I, with my defeated ego and bruised self-esteem, could not understand what it meant and scoffed in my mind. This mocking attitude came from someone who was used to winning everything, all the time, walking away from competitions with first places, and filling my living room with medals and trophies. For me, back then, that was everything. To have a piece of paper that "recognized" my intelligence, my leadership, and therefore, my courage. In one of my moves, I fit all the medals in a case, the trophies in boxes, and the certificates got wet in transit. Last week I found that case, and I truly recognize it: the medals rust and the trophies break. There is nothing on those plaques that makes me more "valuable", My worth is not determined by those recognitions but by the undeserved grace God has bestowed on me. In a generation addicted to recognition that goes to the extremes of lying, denigrating, and manipulating situations just for the sake of recognition, I dare to remember that a piece of paper does not make us more valuable. Today I look with merciful eyes at those who go to extremes for external validation, hoping in God that they can wake up quickly and understand that it is a circle that is hard to break, but when you break it, it sets you free. The true value is found in our learning, resilience, courage, service, discipline, and the times we move forward even without a trophy. If before I lived for the validation of perishable prizes, today I live for the validation of Jesus and to remind them that losing always teaches them more than winning. To confirm to them that after so many years, those words were right: medals rust and certificates get damaged. Let us seek to create a legacy that impacts others and not exalt ourselves with destructible figurines. #impact #careers #lifelessons LinkedIn for Creators
