“I’ll take one each of the green and red grapes”. It was 6:30am and the farmer’s market was just opening for the morning. “They’re $4 a pound. Do you still want them?” The stand attendant looked at me skeptically. “Yes, please.” I paused and looked at the selection before me. “I’ll also take a box of blueberries”. “Those are $7.99.” She looked at me almost with disdain. “No problem. That will be all.” I ended my order with her. She turned to weigh the grapes and I watched her curiously. Why the attitude towards me? Was it the grey hoodie pulled up over my messy hair? Did I look like I couldn’t afford to purchase fruits at a fair market price? “Have a good day.” She stated flatly as she handed me my purchase. I moved on to another stand selling fresh produce. “Good morning. I’ll take a pound of mixed mushrooms, a bunch of carrots, and…” I paused to look over the selection in front of me. “We have fresh spinach this morning.” The gentleman smiled at me, remembering my request from the previous week. “Yes, I’ll take a bag please! Also, a bunch of kale.” I continued with my list. He cheerfully packed my produce into a bag and handed it to me with a smile and well wishes. As I moved on to other vendors, I pondered the difference between the two experiences at the produce vendors. How one had projected my potential dissatisfaction with price onto me, soliciting my protest, while the other happily accepted my order and encouraged my satisfaction with the selection they offered that day. I thought of how these two approaches to sales play out across all industries every single day and how easy it is to judge a purchaser’s ability to buy rather than allowing them to determine if the price is fitting for the product or service. It reminded me again how important it is to focus on your ability to fill the needs of the purchaser and not on price alone. #sales #fractionalexecutive #fractionalcfo #thoughtleadership #pricing

Let's talk about Victoria Beckham. Singing aside, she has designed some cracking clothes and products and this week, this dropped through my letterbox. Now I've not suddenly lost half my body-weight or become a millionaire overnight so it's not one of her fabulous dresses. It's eye-liner. Yes, that stuff that comes dressed as pencil and sometimes a sharpener. Nothing glamorous when you pick it up from your local store or it's in your regular Sainsbury order. But wait one minute, look at the photo and see how she packages hers. A handwritten note (yes, I know printed), in a branded bag with black ribbon. All for a humble eye-liner. How do you think I felt when I opened the package? I felt special. I felt like I'd received a special treat and not something slung in the bottom of an Ocado bag. How can you package what you do to make your patients and clients feel special? It doesn't need to be expensive but with a little thought it can mean the world to the recipient. #presentation #customerexperience

Laughing AT sachets 🤣: - Why in the world would someone purchase that? - That's too expensive for my customers. - They smell too strong. - Sachets are just for old ladies. - I think I saw one in my grandma's house - Our customers would just buy a candle instead Laughing WITH sachets 😂: - I can't believe I sold $1,000,000 of these last year - It blows my mind that this is the #1 endcap in our store - How is this category still growing year over year? - How did I not order enough autumn styles to last the whole season? - 98% seasonal sell-through is just ridiculous. Laughing AT sachets 🤣: - home fragrance and/or queuing category managers that haven't tested our sachets in-store yet. Laughing WITH sachets 😂: - Walmart - Kroger - Dollar General - Meijer - Burlington - Buc-ee's - Kirkland's - At Home - Office Depot - Cracker Barrel - Michael's - JC Penney I could keep going but I think you get the point. We don't mind if you laugh AT sachets 🤣 but I'm trying to show you it's a lot more fun (and a heck-of-a-lot more profitable) to laugh WITH them 😂.

One of the questions we get at Snuggle Hunny multiple times a day is where can I find this product in store. We have hundreds of stockists around the world but, until now, we haven’t made it easy for customers to find them. We want our customers to shop however they want to shop and we want to help them do that. We’re now giving customers the ability to not just find a store but find a store that sells a specific product. So, if I want to know who sells our Reindeer dress near Miranda I can find a bunch of stores that do. Our stockists carry a variety of our range and very few carry everything so a store locator is not enough - it still can result in a pretty poor customer experience when they turn up and discover the outfit they want isn’t stocked. We don’t know the inventory of each store so there’s a bit of Maths in the background to help us make the best guess possible of who is in stock. And, of course, there is so much data that’s produced from this that helps us steer the business. This may be true may be untrue With that being said, let me bring few evidences, we all order food, whether it's pizza, rotis, sambhar dal,chawal etc. We do order many other cuisines. This is common across the globe, 24x7.There are delivery boys and delivery girls. There was incident when one such order was placed by a person. Delivery girl came in her white scooty. She was late for her delivery. Person refused to take delivery. On insisting to take the delivery, the person pour entire curry on her face, her dress and threw the disposable dabba on stress. Seeing this happen, the sweeper ladies came and shouted on the person. Question: Do we think we need to behave with delivery person in such manner? Do comment, your views
