Better late than never - does this also apply to LinkedIn posts?! Either way - two weeks ago I was part of the annual “GoogleServe” event in Munich, cleaning up the area around the Isar river. And while this is one of the cleaner river areas I’d argue, we still found quite some trash (see pictures!). This was fun, a nice way to get colleagues from different departments, made a positive contribution to the community, and got us out of the office with an excuse on a sunny day! 🌞 😎 🏞

It’s nearly Christmas time and celebrating with friends and family. Part of those celebrations is meeting with your network before finishing 2023 and closing the office for the holidays. Networking has always been part of my marketing and no better place to do it than my local Network Ireland Louth. Last Thursday was an amazing evening where the new President was elected (you will be amazing Estelle Cotter) and new positions were elected for. Niamh Pentony was stellar this year and thank you so much for all that you did. The positions within different networks are mostly voluntary and at least for me, it is about giving back to your community. After our official part, we chilled and made beautiful Christmas wreaths for the door. (Some better than others - mine was ok 🫣) Mine is the very first one that I made all by myself! Connection and relationships are the core of any business and that’s why I network. Meeting people face to face makes the relationship stronger. And it should be part of your tactics in your marketing strategy. My 2024 will be about meeting people more, be it face to face or online and increasing my network. Is there a network you recommend me visit next year? #networking #networkmarketing #marketingstrategy

In today's world, building meaningful connections is more important than ever. 🌎 Whether it's for personal or professional reasons, having a strong network of people can help you achieve your goals and dreams. But how do you expand your circles of influence and build meaningful connections? Here are some strategies that can help. Attend events and conferences: Attending events and conferences related to your field or interests is a great way to meet new people and expand your network. Make sure to come prepared with business cards and a friendly attitude. Strike up conversations with people and ask them about their interests and goals. Join groups and communities: Joining groups and communities that share your interests or values is another great way to meet new people and expand your network. Look for groups online or in your local area and attend their events or meetings. This can be a great way to connect with like-minded individuals and build lasting relationships. Volunteer: Volunteering for organizations or causes that you care about is not only a great way to give back to your community, but it's also a great way to meet new people. You'll be working alongside other volunteers who share your passion, and you'll have the opportunity to connect with them on a deeper level. Use social media: Social media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter are great tools for building meaningful connections. Connect with people in your industry or field and engage with them by commenting on their posts or sharing their content. This can help you build relationships with people you may not have had the opportunity to meet in person. Expanding your circles of influence takes time and effort, but it's worth it in the end. By using these strategies and being open to meeting new people, you can build a strong network of meaningful connections that can help you achieve your personal and professional goals. #connection #TheHumanitasWay #Humanitas #impact #people

The REAL Value of Company Events. Today is our annual summer event! We're playing laser tag with the whole team, followed by a dinner with all our teammates' partners. In total, we will be well over 100 people 🙂 Events like this are more than just fun get-togethers – they are essential to the well-being of employees and their families. Three reasons why: 1. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲: In the daily grind, we often forget to reflect on our successes. Company events are an occasion to pause and acknowledge the achievements of the past months – and every single individual's contribution to them. 2. 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: Such events provide a casual platform for organic exchange. The engineer can speak to the salesperson, a conversation that may not happen during a typical working day. Company events help everyone to get to know each other off the clock and build friendships. 3. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: Scanbot SDK employs people from 25 different nationalities. Most of us have relocated to Bonn from another city or country – often bringing a spouse or family. We encourage people to bring their family to the office so it's easy for everyone to establish social connections in Bonn. Below is a photo from our last Christmas event. We had a beer and chocolate tasting. I might add a fun picture from today's laser tag in the comments tonight! 😁 #CompanyCulture #CompanyEvent #WorkLifeBalance

Tip of the Day: Community Collaboration Opens Opportunities. 📢 Have you ever hesitated to ask for help or support in your local community groups? Don't underestimate the power of reaching out! Here's a recent example from our journey: 🗣️ We recently posted a shout-out in our local community groups about our upcoming D-Day event. Little did we know, this simple act would open doors to incredible opportunities! One member suggested joining a 1940s themed event Facebook group, which led to a cascade of connections and possibilities. 💡 Key Lesson: When you engage with your community, you tap into a wealth of resources, ideas, and networks you never knew existed. By sharing our event plans, I have not only gained interest from fellow residents eager to participate but also received valuable suggestions that has improved our event experience. 🎉 The Result: Thanks to our community outreach, our event is evolving into something beyond our initial vision. We're now welcoming residents eager to share their stories, artefacts, and historical insights, turning our event into a memorable touch-and-tell experience. 🚪 Ready to Take the Next Step? If you're unsure where to start or what to ask for, I'm here to help. We can work together to turn your ideas into reality and create something truly special for your community. #CommunityEngagement #Collaboration #EventPlanning #Opportunities #LocalGroups #CommunitySupport #Community #Growth

I spent 5 years working in community events and here's what I learned: -It's never going to go how you planned. It just won't and that's ok. It makes you a great problem solver! -You will wear A LOT of hats. Get ready to gain experience in managing vendors, restructuring a map, communicating to multiple audience types, following H&S plans to help a lost child find their parents, strategising an event plan, handing out flyers and of course posting mail. -There will be many days where you work 12+ hours. It's tiring but it's so fun. You'll gain friends for life. -We couldn't have done it without volunteers!! Honestly, hats off to volunteers. They work big days right alongside us and they're nothing but kind and hardworking! If you are curious what it's like to work in events, go volunteer. Also, it's good for your soul✨ -You are truly making memories for people. This is such a cool one when you really think about it, people come along to an experience you've organised and they get to share it with their friends and family. It's a chance to put your phone down for a bit and build meaningful memories. -Always have a plan B. No explanation needed. -Make time for a chat. Events can be chaotic and a blurr but there are many people who have been working to create this special event for years and years, bring them a cuppa and act like a human with them for a bit. I only have 1 week left at Showing Waikato and it feels strange to think I won't be looking out at this beautiful view soon. Have you worked in events? What's something you learned?

Do you need a schedule when organizing an event? Sure, it’s better. If you host the same event every month, people start to expect it. They make time for it. But then, what about organizing an event just 3 days in advance? That’s a totally different mindset. And it is possible. Sure, you have very little time to promote it. But, if it is good, it will work. #coworking #community #remotework
It’s good to have a structure and schedule but…
