𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄’𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The International Energy Agency (IEA) regularly provides exciting insights into political and economic developments in the field of #emobility through its analyses and studies. 👍 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀: According to the "Global EV Outlook 2024" by the IEA, sales of electric cars will continue to rise in 2024, with around 17 million new electric cars expected to be sold worldwide by the end of the year. This means that one in every five cars sold would be electrically powered. 👎 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁-𝘀𝗼-𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀: The selling price for lithium-ion batteries has fallen from $1,400 per kilowatt-hour in 2010 to less than $140 per kilowatt-hour in 2023, according to the IEA study "Batteries and Secure Energy Transitions". This puts enormous cost pressure on battery manufacturers. ☝️ 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Through highly automated production, optimized quality management, stable manufacturing processes, and an agile, modular system concept, scaling effects can be achieved, thus reducing the production costs for lithium-ion batteries.
