Are Washer and Dryer Pedestals Safe for Children? Washer and dryer pedestals make loading and unloading laundry much easier and can provide extra storage or washing capabilities, making life easier for adults but they can also pose the following risks for young children: 1-Ingestion Hazard: Pedestal drawers can be accessed by children, potentially leading to ingestion of harmful substances. 2-Entrapment: Suffocation or a heat related injury by being trapped inside a pedestal drawer is a possibility. 3-Blunt Injury: The washer and dryer should be anchored to prevent toppling accidents, especially if you have young children who love climbing. Preventive Measures: 1-Child Safety Locks: Install locks on washer and dryer doors to keep curious kids out. 2-Lock the Laundry Room: Consider a locked louvered door to restrict access and maintain ventilation. 3-Power Off: Install an out-of-reach switch to turn off appliances when not in use. 4-Chemical Safety: Store all laundry products and cleaning agents in original containers and out of reach or under lock. 5-Training: Children must be taught to avoid playing in the laundry room. Possible Fire Hazards: 1-Storing laundry products or other chemicals near your washer or dryer is contraindicated by the Consumer Product Safety Commision so a pedestal with a dryer may be wasted space. 2-Installing a dryer pedestal can change the configuration of your dryer vent. Transition hose safety requirements must be maintained to prevent a fire. Remember, if you choose to install a pedestal, ensure compatibility with your appliance brand, proper installation and safety precautions. For expert assistance, contact AALPS Dryer Vent to re-install your dryer’s transition hose to optimize dryer vent safety and efficiency.

#laundrymanager #laundrytraining #laundrysafety #Trainingmanager #housekeeper Laundry Room Safety Tips: Preventing Accidents and Hazards Laundry rooms are busy areas where accidents can occur if proper precautions are not taken. Follow these essential safety tips to prevent accidents and hazards in your laundry room: 1. Keep detergents and chemicals out of reach: Store laundry detergents, bleach, and other cleaning chemicals in a high cabinet or on a shelf that is out of reach of children and pets. Make sure that lids are tightly closed to avoid accidental ingestion. 2. Use laundry pods with caution: Laundry pods are convenient but can be hazardous if ingested or mishandled. Keep laundry pods in their original packaging and out of reach of children. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when using them. 3. Maintain ventilation: Proper ventilation is necessary in the laundry room to prevent the accumulation of fumes from cleaning chemicals and dryer exhaust. Keep windows open or install a vent fan to ensure adequate airflow. 4. Clean lint filters regularly: Clean the lint filter in your dryer after each use to prevent lint buildup, which can cause a fire hazard. Additionally, have your dryer vent cleaned annually to remove lint accumulation. 5. Check dryer ventilation: Ensure that the dryer vent is properly installed and free of obstructions to prevent overheating and potential fire hazards. Inspect the vent hose for kinks or damage and replace it if necessary. 6. Avoid overloading electrical outlets: Do not overload electrical outlets in the laundry room by plugging in too many appliances at once. Use power strips with surge protectors to prevent electrical hazards. 7. Keep floors dry and clear: Clean up spills quickly to prevent slip and fall accidents. Keep the floor free of clutter and ensure that rugs or mats are slip-resistant. 8. Secure washer and dryer: Ensure that your washer and dryer are properly installed and securely anchored to prevent them from tipping over. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation and maintenance. 9. Use caution with hot surfaces: Exercise caution when handling hot surfaces such as the dryer drum or iron. Use oven mitts or gloves to protect your hands and avoid burns. 10. Supervise children and pets: Never leave children or pets unattended in the laundry room, especially when appliances are in use. Keep laundry room doors closed to prevent access when not in use. By following these laundry room safety tips, you can create a secure and hazard-free environment for yourself and your team.

Thanksgiving is the peak day for home cooking fires in the U.S., followed by Christmas Day. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, here are some home safety tips for you and your family: 1. AVOID OVERLOADING POWER OUTLETS. Overloading wall outlets or power strips, especially when using multiple kitchen appliances at once, is a recipe for electrical fire. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends using only one cord per receptacle outlet. Also, look out for any frayed cords or bare wires that present a fire hazard. 2. ENSURE SMOKE DETECTORS ARE WORKING. Check all smoke detectors and alarms. Test each device and replace the batteries when needed. By ensuring smoke detectors and alarms are working properly, any potential fire hazard can be caught before flames break out. 3. BE PRESENT WHILE IS FOOD COOKING. According to the NFPA, unattended cooking is the leading cause of cooking fires and injuries. It's critical to never leave the kitchen while cooking. If cooking or baking something that takes a long time, make sure to stay in the home, use a timer and check on it frequently. 4. KEEP OBJECTS AWAY FROM HOT SURFACES. Keep easily flammable items like oven mitts, potholders, wooden utensils, hand towels, curtains, etc. away from the stove, oven, or any other hot surfaces. If using candles, keep them away from flammable objects and never leave them unattended. 5. HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER NEARBY. Ensure you have an in-date (not expired) fire extinguisher that's easily accessible in the kitchen or dining area. Read the instructions on the label so you know how to use it should a fire occur. Have a Safe & Happy Thanksgiving! #thanksgiving #safety #fireprevention #realestate #propertymanagement #perfectpartnersproperties

🏘Kitchen appliances/Cabinets/Wardrobes General Manager of Overseas Business Dept of 6 Years at HANGZHOU DE&E SMART HOME CO., LTD.
#DEEKnowledgeSharing 😮Kitchen appliances are pivotal in our daily lives, making cooking and food preparation more efficient and convenient. However, it is crucial to recognize the significance of safety functions in these appliances amidst their benefits and convenience. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), cooking equipment is the leading cause of home fires and injuries, responsible for 49% of all reported home fires. Among them, cooking equipment-related fires accounted for 24% of home fire deaths annually, with those over age 65 suffering most severely. This is why DE&E's R&D team must ensure the innovation of products’ primary functions while considering the design of safety protection functions during the research and development stage. Almost all of our gas stoves come with flameout protection to prevent gas leakage and a child lock button for child safety. Besides creating a safer cooking environment, safety functions enhance the longevity of appliances and reduce waste, which promotes sustainability! #KitchenAppliances #SafetyFunctions #CookingSafety #HomeSafety #FirePrevention #NFPA #GasStoveSafety #ChildSafety #technology #design #quality #comment #userexperience #intelligence #newproducts #Intelligent #kitchen #cooking #kitchenappliances #kitchendesign
