I think we can all agree that protecting teens’ mental health online is one of the most crucial things we as a society must do. As the mom of 2 teens - and a leader at YouTube - I feel this as an existential need. So I’m grateful that in recognition of Safer Internet Day, we’re expanding our safeguards for teen content recommendations - to make sure that content that may be ok to watch as a single video, but could be problematic if viewed in repetition, isn’t recommended repeatedly. We’re also sharing resources developed by experts to help guide age-appropriate mental health content. Check out our official YouTube blog for this and other tools that will help you manage your teens’ time on YouTube. https://lnkd.in/ezXsE7KP

It's Time to talk. This annual awareness day brings together friends, families, communities and workplaces for open and honest conversations about mental health. By sharing feelings and experiences, we can end the stigma, foster understanding, and improve lives. Though starting these conversations may seem difficult, their power to evoke change is immense. So when someone asks how you're doing, don't just say "fine." Have the courage to share what's really on your mind. Let's connect and support each other. Together, our voices can make a difference. Make today the day you start talking.

Let's Keep the Mental Health Conversation Alive Mental Health Awareness Week was last week, so let's reflect on the power of these dedicated weeks in raising awareness and sparking crucial conversations. However, our commitment to mental health doesn't end with that week. It's essential to keep the dialogue ongoing every day, every month, throughout the year. We must create spaces where those affected by mental health challenges feel heard, supported, and understood. Let's ensure everyone has a voice and a safe place to turn to when needed. By continuing these conversations, we break down barriers, reduce stigma, and pave the way for a more empathetic and supportive society. So, let's not let the momentum fade. Let's pledge to keep talking, listening, and advocating for mental health awareness and support.
