Policy update for YouTube: Content creators soon will need to disclose when they use generative AI to create realistic videos posted on the platform. Very much a forward-looking policy update. One could envision automated production and posting of videos by AI-infused content creation systems. Taken to the extreme, it would be possible to post so much automated video that YouTube could find itself subject to the video equivalent of volume-driven denial of service attacks. Just another example of how existing services need to look around the corner to pre-emptively address AI-powered worst-case scenarios. #ArtificialIntelligence #ContentCreators #AutomatedVideoProduction

WOW!!!!!!!! -- I did not think it possible to see a NY Times article that would be combining IPTC , Facebook and embedded metadata all in the same place. Remarkable. And long overdue. --- Of course, let's be clear. FB didn't (and still doesn't) care about copyright or other truth or provenance or other items. They talk about authenticity, but then approve manipulated videos and propaganda. So it's not all rosy. They only care about not poisoning their own datasets. "Meta is homing in on a series of technological specifications called the IPTC and C2PA standards. They are information that specifies whether a piece of digital media is authentic in the metadata of the content. Metadata is the underlying information embedded in digital content that gives a technical description of that content.
