I enjoyed speaking with Larry Getlen about the trend for retailers opening smaller stores. It’s not just large department stores opening smaller format stores, but that is certainly popular. Also, available locations close to both suburban and urban consumers are tight, especially in more high-traffic lifestyle centers. There are numerous advantages and opportunities for retailers in smaller stores to more effectively manage the assortment, inventory, staffing, and last but certainly not least, the consumer experience. #retail #stores

Interesting report by Cushman & Wakefield: In 2024, store opening announcements are exceeding planned closures—with 3,438 openings planned compared to 2,587 closures. This is resulting in a net gain of 851 stores to date. If this trend continues throughout the year, it will mark the third consecutive year of growth—a milestone not seen in ten years.

Our School of management organises Mall-madness "Retail-O-Mania" Mall name :- "Venice Mall " This is basically outbound activity Excited 😊 to explore the vibrant Venice Mall. The creative advertisement and eye-catching displays really made the shopping experience enjoyable and engaging. The store layouts were well-organized, making it easy to navigate and find what you looking for. It was inspiring to see how these elements come together to create a captivating retail environment. Shopping malls are an emerging trend in the global arena. The first thing that comes in our mind about the shopping mall is that it is a big enclosed building housing a variety of shops or products. So, what we have done in the mall . First we go to the PUMA store and we ask them about the type retail format, store layout, inventory management, and current scenario. Reimagining retail: with clever reimagining, reinvention and retrofitting of spaces, new life is being breathed into old stores, James Ainsworth, Partner at Workman LLP, writes in Completely Retail. Although reverberations of high-profile collapses are still being felt — from Debenhams and House of Fraser to Beales and Fenwick’s sale of its store on London’s New Bond Street, retail is not dead – it is embracing change. There is light at the end of the aisle – with retailers and leisure operators such as Zara, All Saints, Rituals, and King Pins expanding their presence across the nation. ZARA SA will be moving into the former Debenhams unit at Silverburn, Glasgow’s flagship retail and leisure destination, as reported by Completely Retail, with repurposing works project managed by our #BuildingConsultancy team. Spanning 47,000 sq. ft over two floors, the new store – which has been taken on a 15-year lease – will be one of Zara’s largest in Scotland, and twice the size of the brand’s existing unit at Eurofund Group's Silverburn. Works are already well underway, project managed by our #BuildingConsultancy team, in preparation for Zara to begin their own works later this year to create their new store. Wawa, Inc., a convenience store chain, has remodeled one of its locations in Philadelphia, turning it into a shelfless store. The renovation took SIX DAYS (woah!) and the store reopened on July 26, 2023. The new format aims to provide customers with faster order processing and is part of Wawa's continuous efforts to test different store formats for increased #convenience. The shelfless store concept represents a shift in the traditional #cashierless model that has become popular in the industry. Despite closing some Philadelphia stores due to crime concerns, Wawa is looking to explore innovative store formats to enhance customer experience. The company has not yet revealed its future plans for additional shelfless locations.
