#Prevention is the goal, but #recovery is nice, too! We recovered 🤑 $2 Million in value on this one! #cargotheft #supplychain #supplychainsecurity #supplychainvisibility #supplychaindisruption #RTTVP
It's Halloween, and the ghouls are out in full force. Our team is constantly on high alert for anything spooky, and like true guardians in the night, they escalated a theft in progress in California through our LE Connect network. Through a spellbinding effort alongside the California Highway Patrol Cargo Theft Interdiction program, the Los Angeles PD, and our private on-the-ground response team, the total load was recovered and returned fully intact to its origin. There are more tricks than treats out on the road. Stay alert, and reach out for more protection from phantoms and ghostly bandits.

In the aftermath of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade, a tragic shooting incident unfolded in Missouri, resulting in one fatality and 21 injuries. This event took place as thousands of fans were congregating west of Union Station to celebrate the team’s win, with officials reporting the incident occurred around 14:00 local time. Among the victims, nine were children, all of whom are expected to make a recovery. In response to this violence, police have detained three individuals believed to be connected to the shooting. The impact on local healthcare facilities was immediate, with victims, including children between six and fifteen years of age, requiring urgent medical attention for gunshot wounds and injuries sustained in the ensuing chaos. The community’s response was one of fear and shock, highlighting the broader implications of gun violence in public spaces. The occurrence of gunfire during such a significant public gathering not only sent attendees, including the city’s mayor and his family, scrambling for safety but also prompted an immediate law enforcement and emergency services response. Over 800 police officers, already stationed for parade security, along with the fire department personnel, were quick to offer aid and initiate an investigation. This swift action led to the identification and apprehension of suspects, although their motives remain under investigation. This incident raises significant concerns about the safety of public events and their potential impact on tourism. Such acts of violence not only threaten the well-being of attendees but also pose a challenge to the perceived security of tourist destinations, potentially deterring visitors and affecting local economies reliant on tourism. The shooting underscores the need for stringent security measures and the importance of addressing gun violence as a critical public safety issue. Officials and the public alike are now faced with the task of reflecting on and addressing the circumstances that allowed this tragedy to occur, despite the presence of extensive security arrangements. The call for action extends to the highest levels of government, with President Biden advocating for gun reform in the wake of the incident. This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing debate over gun control and the need for comprehensive strategies to ensure the safety of public gatherings, which are integral to the social and economic fabric of communities. A Good Start
𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐮𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 With a rare unanimous “yes” vote in the #Saskatchewan legislature, a private members’ motion on guns passed Thursday. The motion from Carrot River Valley MLA Fred Bradshaw calls on the federal government to “devolve” or pass on responsibility for all parts of #TheFirearmsAct to the province so it can administer and regulate gun possession itself. A news release from the Government of Saskatchewan's caucus office said the motion was introduced in response to Bill C-21. The federal bill made changes to the Firearms Act, including putting a freeze on handgun sales, changing the technical definition of an assault-style firearm, and prohibitions against ghost guns. At one point, the bill had included a provision that would have put some hunting rifles and shotguns on a prohibited list, but that was removed. The news release said the changes effectively erased the value of handguns “despite the fact that most handgun crime is committed using illegally trafficked and acquired handguns.” The release said the provincial government won’t “stand idly by as the federal government brands thousands of law-abiding citizens as criminals,” then goes on to clarify that it still does support work to reduce the criminal and illegal use of guns. All of the Saskatchewan Party, Saskatchewan New Democratic Party, and independent members present in the assembly Thursday voted to pass the motion. Retired ATF Deputy Assistant Director | Former NYPD Homicide Detective | Consultant | Bestselling Author of ‘The Deadly Path’ | Keynote Speaker
Sworn testimony... In my sworn testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on June 15, 2011, I stated under oath "We [ATF] weren't giving guns to people who were hunting bear. We were giving guns to people who were killing other humans." I also referred to the case as a "colossal failure of leadership from within ATF and the Department of Justice." I was NOT part of the "Operation Fast and Furious" case, but I knew that it was a stain that we all wore in the eyes of the public and in those of many of our law enforcement colleagues outside of ATF. That statement and a couple of others were turned into soundbites and headlines because I didn't mince words. I didn't dance around the issue, or try to sugar coat such an ugly reality. This article is an example of another reality- There is carnage happening on the other side of our southern border. Some people are still dying on the other end of the barrel of Fast and Furious guns, perhaps not in this shooting, but in others. Those weapons are not perishable. They don't just vanish. They'll show up at crime scenes for many years to come. We had the tools to help stem the flow of firearms into Mexico then. We have even more of them now, yet folks who have never worked these sorts of cases or saw the obstacles we dealt with every day clamour for more laws, or point their fingers at others to avoid the harsh reality of an unsecured border and unenforced federal statutes (in some federal judicial districts). I don't mince words in my book either: https://lnkd.in/e3xtMiPv. The link has some editorial reviews from people from both sides of the political spectrum. I'm a strong believer that law enforcement and politics should never be intertwined, but I've learned that is easier said than done. You can pre-order now, or buy it when it hit's the shelves on March 5, 2024. I'd love to hear the thoughts of those of you who choose to read it. #ATF #DOJ #Cartels #whistleblowers #guns #bordersecurity

https://lnkd.in/dbKpAy4P A frightening story out of Western Washington State. A 17-year-old kid gets on a metro bus wearing a ski mask. He pulls out a handgun and executes a 21-year-old victim then flees. Totally unprovoked according to police. The pandemic has given criminals the upper hand by making it somewhat normal to wear a mask in public. However, a ski mask should cause your brain to stimulate your body to drop some dopamine and tell you something is not right. What would you do in a situation like this? Exiting the next stop might be a good tactic. But is it the right tactic? My street survival course gives everyday people the skills to make good decisions during potentially life-threatening situations. Message me here or contact me through my website. Get trained. Practice. Be safer. https://lnkd.in/gcZYNHiK
