🌟 Last Thursday's "The Link" event by Payments NZ at the Worldline offices was an inspiring gathering of remarkable women in the payments industry. We delved into the 'Glass Cliff' phenomenon, where women often assume leadership roles during turbulent times. One valuable insight shared was the importance of seeking support when stepping into these challenging opportunities. As highlighted, the bigger title, responsibilities, and package are enticing, but success requires a strong support system, both inside and out of the organisation 🙌 Research suggests women excel in collaborative decision-making and relationship-building. Embracing these strengths and building a strong network of wāhine around us is crucial. Remember, reaching out for help is a sign of strength 💪🏽 Maxine Elliott's step into CEO during the pandemic showcased how crises can be circuit breakers, allowing fresh perspectives in a new working environment. It's a reminder that change can bring growth 🌱 In the diverse landscape of today's workplace, our views on the glass cliff can vary. The experience differs in enterprises, corporations, startups, or medium-sized businesses. Key here is realizing that most mistakes won't be life-threatening, offering invaluable learning opportunities 🔑 Indra Nooyi's quote, "The glass ceiling will go away when women help other women break through that ceiling," resonates. However, progress is fragmented. We need a cohesive strategy supported by all levels of government. It's alarming that 40% of Belgians aged 16 to 74 lack basic #digital skills. Yet digital inclusion is crucial for everyone: citizens, the #economy, and the #government. By 2030, up to 560,000 new jobs will require such skills. We must act now to prevent further digital exclusion! Together with 63 other CEOs and ambassadors, we endorse DigitAll’s Open Letter and call on future regional and federal governments to join us in this mission by acting on our three recommendations for a digitally inclusive #Belgium: 1️⃣ Develop a coordinated strategy. 2️⃣ Provide structural funding. 3️⃣ Work on an inclusive approach.   Together, we reaffirm our dedication to creating a more inclusive digital landscape where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. A comprehensive digital inclusion plan will have our full support. 🌎 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Take Center Stage in Fintech🌎 This month, The Fintech Times is diving deep into the critical topic of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in the fintech industry. As a sector known for its innovation and agility, fintech still faces significant diversity challenges that threaten to hold back its growth and progress. The statistics are stark - in the UK, women hold only 30% of fintech jobs and just 17% of senior leadership roles, while ethnic minorities and disabled/neurodivergent individuals are severely underrepresented. This month, The Fintech Times will explore what true DEI means for fintechs and what needs to be done to build a more inclusive, accessible industry. They'll uncover real stories highlighting the importance of feeling valued and heard, as well as spotlight the policies and initiatives driving meaningful change from the ground up.
