ALLEN PARK -- Former Detroit Lions kicker Riley Patterson is looking for another new team.
Patterson was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars after the team signed veteran kicker Brandon McManus on Thursday. The 23-year-old provided stability for the Lions in 2021, then was cut heading into last season. Paterson made 13-of-14 field-goal attempts in 2021, though.
He also made all 16 point-after tries across those seven games, even winning NFC special teams player of the week for hitting all three field goals against the Cardinals in Week 15. Patterson hit two field goals from further than 45 yards that day, leading the Lions to an upset victory.

The Lions have since turned to Michael Badgley as their primary kicker. They recently added John Parker Romo to the offseason program, adding some competition to the mix. Badgley inked a new deal to stick around these parts after making 20-of-24 field-goal attempts, including a long of 53 yards, nailing all 33 extra-point attempts in 12 games.
