FLINT, MI - One of Flint’s biggest summer events is back again.
Alley Fest 2024, organized by Communities First, Inc. and Friends of The Alley, is gearing up to be an all-day extravaganza in Buckham Alley, celebrating the vibrancy of urban spaces with local music, food, and a diverse array of vendors.
Scheduled to take place in the heart of the city from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 13, the festival promises a lively atmosphere with 16 bands performing across two stages, sponsored by Square and the Greater Flint Arts Council.
Attendees can explore over 50 vendor stalls offering everything from food and clothing to jewelry, art, and books.
Last year, local food options like Macho Doggs, Smoke, Rattle & Roll and Mr. Prince Gourmet were available.
“I love that we get to feature local musicians, the vibe is always great. ...There’s always really good local food, and people are always dressed so cool,” Kristin Stevenson, president of Friends of the Alley, previously said. “It’s just a really great day to have fun outside in the summertime and enjoy downtown Flint.”
Friends of the Alley is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to beautify and activate downtown Flint’s alleys by creating inviting, inclusive, pedestrian-friendly spaces.
The nonprofit spends time throughout the year hosting fundraisers to help pay for the event, and the group installs and pays for the lights in the alley.
The event is free of charge, making it accessible for everyone to enjoy the festive spirit.
