Unfortunately, he loves it but fortunately I was able to borrow it to use as a mold. I lined it with compostable clear wrap and papier-mâché’d it using glue and paper napkins. I did a few layers allowing a few minutes in between them so it would be easier to dry. On the last layer, I added pressed flowers with a bit of glue and sealed them in. when it was dry, I removed my papier-mâché mushroom top from the mold and peeled the clear wrap away. I grabbed a jar and placed some fairy lights in it using moss to cover up the batteries. Then I put my mushroom top over it and that was it as simple fairy lantern that my Rosie was immediately drawn to. My Giant Illuminated Mushrooms Brighten Up Every Place They Go

I originally built these Giant Mushrooms for my annual Halloween walk-through but they also serve as wonderful decor pieces at music festivals, weddings and a variety of special events. They range in a variety of sizes from 5ft to 10ft tall. They are made of wood, chicken wire, electrical conduit, 2 part spray foam, spandex and l.e.d. lighting.
