Here are a few of my favorite character illustration I did for G.I. Joe Battleground.

Duke is a G.I. Joe character in the Resolute series. A leader is always in the position of making the tough calls and hard decisions. Duke, as the head of the G.I. Joe team, understands the burden of leadership all too well. When it's the duty of the team to respond to a threat against the world, Duke must be the one to make sure that the priorities are clear: the mission comes first and everything else comes a distant second. He demands a lot from his team, but doesn't ask anything of them…

Were these brothers not the coolest characters in the G.I. Joe universe?! This was a blast to concept and create. Sculpting was handled in Zbrush and renders in Cinema 4D and Octane Render. One of the strategies I'm taking in Zbrush is to only sculpt what the camera will see which is why that initial sketch is so important. This saves a ton of time since these are ending up in a 2D image.
