In the last few years at SAD 51 we’ve watched the number of portable classrooms increase, our playgrounds reconfigure and our field space decrease. Every last inch of Mabel I. Wilson is used to creatively provide needed classrooms, all indicating the need for additional learning space.

The five-year journey to determine the best alternative to address our increased district enrollment will culminate on June 11, when as a community, we can vote to support a new school. Having watched school board meetings, read volumes of information explaining the rationale for the new project and compared the different alternatives presented, I will enthusiastically support the new school. The school board has thoughtfully and deliberately balanced costs while providing for the needs of our students and educators. Please join me in voting “yes” for the new school on June 11. We owe it to our youth and our community.
