Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Ken Griffey Jr. was the honorary pace car driver the Indianapolis 500 on May 26 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Taylor Ashford, community impact manager for the College Park Skyhawks (the Atlanta Hawks’ G League affiliate), presented Remington Goodloe, a fifth-grader at West Clayton Elementary School, the inaugural F.L.Y. Award, which stands for future leader, lifelong learner and youth achiever, May 17 during an awards ceremony at the school. Remington received a custom Skyhawks jersey with his last name on the back and the number 24.

Participating in a May 23 panel discussion around the 30th anniversary of New York Rangers great Stéphane Matteau’s historic double-OT winning goal in Game 7 of the 1994 Eastern Conference final against the New Jersey Devils were: broadcaster Howie Rose; former Islanders player Pierre Turgeon; former Devils player Jim Dowd; Matteau; 1994 Stanley Cup Champion teammates and former Rangers players Adam Graves and Mike Richter; and moderator Scott Lasky.

Jim Cavale of Athletes.org, Keith Marshall of The Players’ Lounge, LSU basketball player Flau’jae Johnson,Donald Woodard of Carter + Woodard and moderator Bruce Siegal of Greenspoon Marder participated in a panel discussion, “Athlete Empowerment through NIL,” at the International Trademark Association’s annual meeting May 21 in Atlanta.
