Lost progress in Superstar mode

My character was a halfback for the LA Chargers.

After going through the combine, the draft and all these things I was playing midway through my first season when one day I noticed that my character is now classified as a free agent and I no longer can continue his career.

His stats and rewards are still visible (he is level 77 for instance), but my only option is to re-start my career from the combine, I cannot continue from week 9 or something.

I see that many other players are suffering from this problem.

The consultant that I was chatting with asked me to open a new thread about this, so maybe there will be some help.
