Our very own Ronald Van der Laars has been named one of the Top 10 chefs in the Netherlands by Gronda – a platform where some of the best chefs around the world share their culinary creations. Chef Ronald is an ambassador for Future 50 Foods, a list of diverse and highly nutritious foods with a low planetary impact. It’s one of his passions in life. He encourages people to be “eativists” and use food to make a positive difference in the world. Chef Ronald is also one of our longest serving chefs in UFS, having been with the business for almost 25 years. He has enjoyed a very full and privileged career in that time, believing people play a big part in shaping their own destiny and finding fulfilment in their work. Esme Restaurant in Chicago has been the home for the Unilever Food Solutions North America launch of Future Menus Report 2024, a Global UFS initiative that we landed with impact on May the 20th, 2024. We invited 100 distinguished guests from the Press, our esteemed Customers and Colleagues. As World Environment Day 2024 fast approaches, we are very proud to share the launch of 25 dishes with a lower carbon footprint in partnership with Sodexo. It’s the latest initiative in our long-standing sustainable dining collaboration. Each dish has less than 900 grams of carbon emissions and was developed by a team of talented UFS and Sodexo chefs who worked together at Unilever Foods Innovation Centre 'Hive' in the Netherlands.
