About the Network
Reveal tells big, ambitious investigative stories for a national audience. Our reporters often get great tips, documents and data. But a lot of them ended up on the cutting room floor.
Enter the Reveal Reporting Network.
Since 2018, we’ve put those leads where they belong: in the hands of journalists who know their communities best. Our user-friendly data, story leads and training have assisted the nearly 1,400 journalists in the network in producing meaningful investigative work.
How to Join
There’s no application or pitch to write. All journalists following our ethics and partner requirements are welcome to anything we’ve got to share.

Using New Federal Diversity Data
In 2023, the government released the largest trove of corporate diversity information ever made public after a yearslong legal battle by Reveal. We now have details on the diversity of staff, executive and lower-level, of more than 19,000 companies who’ve held contracts with the federal government.

LegiScan is a free, nonpartisan tool to read and monitor bills proposed in state legislatures across the country – which is exactly where so much of the democracy-altering change is happening right now. We used it to build a one-of-a-kind database, and show you how to do the same.

Past Reporting Network Projects
When Reveal senior reporter and producer Will Evans discovered a method for reporting on secret Amazon injury numbers, more than a dozen newsrooms joined us in covering the high injury rates at their local warehouses.
In 2018, Reveal partnered with ProPublica and Newsy to explore how dozens of law enforcement agencies were making it appear as though they solved a significant share of their rape cases when they simply closed them. We shared our data from 70,000 rape cases, and five newsrooms used it to launch significant investigations into their local police departments.
And after our All Work, No Pay investigation exposed work camps masquerading as rehabs, tips came pouring in from programs across the country. We shared them with the network and spurred numerous stories that informed families about the reality of local rehab programs.
