CHAMPIONNAT D’ASIE-PACIFIQUE DES RALLYES

SEASON 2024

CHAMPIONNAT D’ASIE-PACIFIQUE DES RALLYES

Established in 1998, the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) provides a platform for drivers and teams from the region, plus those travelling from further afield, to showcase their skills on international-standard events.

Because of the significant geographical spread of rallies and to ensure as many competitors as possible can take part, the APRC is split in two – the FIA APRC Asia Cup and the FIA APRC Pacific Cup.

At the end of the season, a winner-takes-all showdown, contested by drivers from the Asia Cup and Pacific Cup, is held to decide the winners of the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship for Drivers and Co-Drivers, the FIA APRC3 Championship for Drivers and Co-Drivers, FIA APRC4 Championship for Drivers and Co-Drivers and the FIA Junior APRC Championship for Drivers. Rally of Whangarei in New Zealand will host the 2024 FIA APRC Grand Finale from November 10-12.

For 2024 the South India Rally, Japan’s Rally Montre, the Danau Toba Rally in Indonesia and the Longyou Rally in China make up the Asia Cup. Rally Montre will also form part of the Pacific Cup schedule along with Rally of Otago and Rally of Whangarei in New Zealand.

As well as Rally2, Rally3, Rally4, Rally5 and new-for-2024 Rally5-Kit machinery, plus cars homologated or approved for use by the ASN of a country hosting a round of the APRC can take part and score points in the APRC Cups and APRC Grand Finale.

FIA Junior APRC is for drivers 28 and under on January 1, 2024, entered in any eligible car.

What’s new for 2024?

  • Rally of Whangarei in New Zealand takes its turn as the host event of the FIA APRC Grand Finale for 2024 and moves from May to November as a result.
  • APRC event organisers will no longer have to apply for waivers to run events entirely or mainly on sealed-surface stages due to Rally Montre running fully on Tarmac and Rally Longyou using mainly concrete roads.
  • Rally5-Kit cars, which can be homologated at local level in collaboration with the FIA Technical Department, are permitted for APRC action. The exciting move will allow the use of parts and expertise available locally to deliver more cost-effective competition cars.
