Our team in Hazel Park, Michigan, had the opportunity to experience the power of BorgWarner battery systems firsthand when the new third-generation GILLIG Battery Electric Bus made a visit during its cross-country customer demonstration tour. The heavy-duty transit bus – powered by seven BorgWarner modular battery packs for a total of 686 kWh of onboard energy storage—has been widely adopted by transit agencies across the country, as it makes sustainability practical with its reliable, record-setting performance. In fact, the BorgWarner-powered GILLIG Battery Electric bus set the highest Altoona scores in durability, safety, and performance ever achieved by a zero-emissions bus. We’re proud of our partnership with GILLIG as we work to drive the world forward to a more sustainable, energy-efficient future.
