We had such a great time hosting a tufting workshop for both the youth and the dedicated staff at CAMBA . 🧶✨ Seeing the joy and creativity in each of these amazing individuals was truly inspiring. CAMBA’s mission to enhance the quality of life for New Yorkers through diverse and holistic programs aligns with our goal of fostering creativity and community. From education and youth development to housing stability and economic empowerment, CAMBA has and continues to make a great impact on NY. Starting tomorrow, June 18, high heat is expected, with the heat index possibly reaching 100°F. 🔺 Key Actions: - **Cooling Centers Open Tuesday**: Find your nearest cooling center at https://lnkd.in/eu6FN-sh or call 311. - **Stay Hydrated**: Drink water frequently, avoid caffeine and alcohol. - **Limit Outdoor Activity**: Avoid strenuous activities between 11 AM and 4 PM. - **Wear Light Clothing**: Choose lightweight, light-colored clothes. - **Check on Vulnerable Neighbors**: Especially older adults and those with pre-existing health conditions. 💡 Energy-Saving Tips: - Set your AC to 78°F or "low". - Run appliances in the early morning or late at night. - Keep shades, blinds, and curtains closed. - Turn off unnecessary lights and appliances. 🚨 Signs of Heat Illness: - Hot, dry skin - Trouble breathing - Rapid heartbeat - Confusion or dizziness - Nausea and vomiting In an emergency, call 911 immediately. 🐾 Pet Safety: - Ensure pets have access to fresh water. - Walk dogs in the morning or evening. - Never leave pets in cars.
