Members of the Eden Prairie Police Department recently braved the rain to run three miles through Eden Prairie, proudly carrying the Special Olympics Minnesota torch. We received the torch from our friends at the Minnetonka Police Department and after a dedicated run, passed it on to two inspiring Special Olympics athletes at the Eden Prairie Center. Throughout the day, the torch journeyed to Stillwater Area High School, lighting the way for the 2024 Special Olympics Summer Games. 🕯️🏅 Police departments have a unique relationship with the Special Olympics, serving as guardians of the "Flame of Hope." The EPPD is honored to be part of this annual tradition, supporting and celebrating these incredible athletes. We're already looking forward to next year!

City employees got a taste of the adrenaline-pumping world of firefighting recently, thanks to our Department Experience program! This initiative is an opportunity for colleagues to learn about other roles within the City, and fosters stronger collaboration and relationships across departments.
